The CW has gone guest-star crazy! On last night’s episode of “Gossip Girl,” Hilary Duff and Tyra Banks both had major roles, and socialite/designer Tory Burch popped up in a cameo, as did Georgina Chapman, the designer for Marchesa. Hilary is Dan’s new love interest; she plays actress Olivia Burke who enrolls at NYU and becomes Vanessa’s roommate. She was reasonably decent, but since she’s sticking around for a few episodes, we certainly hope that they’ll upgrade her wardrobe from that ill-fitting t-shirt she donned for most of last night’s episode. We certainly don’t watch “Gossip Girl” for tees! The real story, however, was Tyra.

My heart literally skips a beat when I hear the opening riff to the 90210 theme song. The CW has released a promo video for the new spin-off, based totally on the original’s opening credits, and I am so so so so excited. I think we can be assured that the fashion is going to be fierce. After all, Nine-Oh did help bring flower hats, leggings, cropped baby T’s, and school girl skirts to the masses.

The Gossip Girl folks are certainly working hard to get us all hot and bothered about the show’s upcoming episodes, but they’re also doing a really good job of annoying us. Not only did The CW move the show’s air day and time from Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST to Mondays at 8 p.m. EST, but none of the new episodes will be available on CWTV.com. It looks like so many of us watch streaming episodes on The CW’s website that they’ve decided it would be better (read: generate more money) if they only allowed the purchase of episodes on iTunes. It looks like I’ll have to clear my calendar every Monday so I get home in time to hear those glorious words, “xoxo, Gossip Girl.” [Reuters]
