Quick Tip Of The Day: How To Write A Thank-You Note In 3 Minutes

Writing a thank-you note can be a daunting task, but you only have to remember the rule of three. You have three days to send the card without seeming rude or forgetful. It should only take three minutes to write your message of three lines. Greet the recipient by name, obvi. You should thank them for the exact item you received, but if they gave you cash, don’t state the amount. Simply write: “Thank you for your generosity.” And if the gift is intangible, say, they let you stay at their country home, then write: “Thank you for your hospitality.” The second line should explain how you plan to use the gift. The third line is your opportunity to express your appreciation for seeing or hearing from the giver and that you hope your paths will cross again soon or they’re in your thoughts. Simple, right?
