Today’s Lady News: Tel Aviv Bus Line Segregates Women From Men

  • Bus line #322 out of Tel Aviv, Israel, separates the genders by requiring women to sit in the back of the bus while men sit in the front. I am told that private bus lines in the U.S. do this, too. Nevertheless, at least female politician Yael Dayan, chairwoman of the City Council of Tel Aviv, has said, “I will recommend to passengers to boycott the line. It cannot be that women, even religious or ultra-Orthodox, do not understand the meaning of separation in public.” [YNetNews.com]
