Malik Taylor was the dean of the Business of Sports School, a high school in midtown Manhattan. But in May, he resigned after admitting to “inappropriate sexual relations” with four students. And that’s not all: Taylor confessed to sexually harassing students and asking one of them to purchase pot for him. Apparently, Taylor had been using the high school as a place to pick up chicks, propositioning students, commenting on and touching their bodies, and threatening them if they told authorities. Among his indiscretions: Keep reading »
This video shows the commotion after a teacher in Korea violently beat a student and then masturbated in front of the rest of his students. Police arrested the unidentified teacher (the man in the video with his pants down), for causing bodily harm to a minor and public exposure.
According to student witnesses, the teacher beat a boy “savagely” when he discovered he was wearing headphones in class. Then he ran out into the hallway and furiously masturbated. The teacher denies touching himself (although it’s hard to explain why he is pantsless if that’s the case) but admitted to the beating. He is suspended from the school indefinitely. WTF? [Guyism]
Two gunman murdered a teacher who taught at an all-girls elementary school in Pakistan this week in a drive-by shooting. Shahnaz Nazli was killed just 200 meters from where she taught, no doubt because she dared to educate girls, according to The Daily Beast. Her killing is the most recent tragedy in the battle for women’s education in Pakistan, and it has triggered an online petition by the UN Special Envoy For Global Education. Keep reading »
Carly McKinney, a 10th grade math teacher at Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado, has been placed on administrative leave after a local news station found half-naked pics, photos of the 23-year-old smoking pot and inappropriate Tweets under the handle @CarlyCrunkBear on the internet. Even though pot is legal for personal use in the state of Colorado, the school is investigating whether McKinney brought pot on campus. Lamely, McKinney is claiming that her Twitter account was a parody that her friend was tweeting from and that she never brought drugs onto the school’s campus. Huh? Keep reading »
Earlier this week, the tabloid New York Post put out the headline every paper dreams of:
PHOTO EXCLUSIVE! TEACHER’S PET! Caught in action with student
The photo exclusive showed a 26-year-old teacher named Julie Warning amorously smooching her 18-year-old student, Eric Arty.
Of course, the Manhattan Theater Lab High School teacher was in the wrong here. Arty is over the age of consent, but Warning is still his teacher at his school. She deserves to be fired. But what isn’t getting enough attention is the fact that Eric Arty and four of his classmates each put in $100 on a bet to see who could hook up with “Miss Warning” first.
Eric, the winner, walked away with a $500 prize — as well as a gold seal of douchebaggery from moi. Keep reading »
How would you feel if you knew your young child’s art teacher used to be a prostitute? This is the question at the heart of a news story making waves this week in New York City. Melissa Petro, a “well-liked” elementary school art teacher in the Bronx for the past three years, was recently reassigned to administrative duty after the school system caught wind of her history as a prostitute. Petro was never arrested and has no criminal record. So, how did the school find out about her past? Oh, because she blogged about it for the Huffington Post a couple of weeks ago.
