Taylor Jacobson wants you to know she’s doing just fine, thank you very much.
The blond, sometimes brash celebrity stylist split from Rachel Zoe in August of 2010 and was the subject of one-sided attacks on Zoe’s eponymous reality TV show, “The Rachel Zoe Project.”

Yesterday Rachel Zoe announced that she and her gay husband, Brad Goreski, were splitting up … amicably. That may not be the case after all. As it turns out, Brad’s frou-frou statement about “spreading his wings and soaring” was code for he’s sick of doing all the work and having Rachel take all the credit. Keep reading »
We’ve known for a while that Rachel Zoe’s former protégée, Taylor Jacobson, was leaving “The Rachel Zoe Project.” But until the first episode aired we had no idea why. Was anyone as shocked as I was that Rach and Rodge fired her, implying that Tay-Tay stole from them? Does she have a bad attitude? Sure. Does she seem like a thief? Not really.

Thanks to previews, we already know that when the new season of “The Rachel Zoe Project” begins, a few details will emerge regarding Taylor Jacobson’s departure from Rachel’s empire. But since leaving Zoe’s clutches, Taylor set up her own company, hired an assistant and interns, got busy, and is building her own brand name. Much like any individual who’s branched out on her own, she’s learning that when starting out, it’s all about long days of hard work, determination, and grunt work. That being said, it seems like Taylor’s doing pretty well for herself. Unsurprisingly, she already has a clientele full of celebrity names including Kate Beckinsale, though she’d rather keep the list hush-hush unlike her former employer. She’s working with the denim brand Kasil, and she’s already been propositioned with the idea of her own spin-off reality show. Don’t hold your breath on her accepting that offer though. How’s this for unprofessional? Stylist-to-the-stars Rachel Zoe is on a roll talking smack about her former assistant, Taylor Jacobson, in the press. Jacobson left Zoe’s business — and the reality TV show, “The Rachel Zoe Project,” which showed how Jacobson was the only one who lifted a finger in that office — last November. Word on the street is that Jacobson was fired over designer clothes that were lost or stolen from the closet — though that seems out-of-character, in my opinion.
We don’t know what really happened, but we do know there was no love lost between them: when asked about Jacobson’s new gig as a consultant for a denim line, Zoe told a reporter for Women’s Wear Daily, “I don’t care what she does. How’s that? How’s that for an answer?” More gossip, after the jump… Keep reading »
Sadly, everyone’s favorite complainer, Taylor Jacobson, won’t be appearing on “The Rachel Zoe Project” anymore since she quit, but it seems her moment of reality show fame allowed her to add a few new jobs to her resume. Now on top of her styling skills, Taylor can claim the title of blogger and designer. L.A. denim brand Kasil hired her to create a capsule collection of denim looks, and the fruits of her creative labor are finally out for the world to see. Though the collection is full of skinny jeans, there’s one pair of flares, which look very similar to the denim that Rachel fell in love with and wore multiple times over on the show. Just sayin’. If she also styled this lookbook, then we’re missing the huge sunnies. More after the jump! [Fashionista] Keep reading »
Well, you’re in luck! But it’s not the opening you think. When Taylor left to go style on her own, many assumed Rachel would hire another style assistant and Brad would be first styling associate. Actually, the opening, according to the listing on Linked In, is for an Advertising Sales and Business Development Executive. According to Zoe, Inc. they’re looking for someone to “evangelize The Zoe Report as being a leader in the fashion publication/ newsletter space.” (Whatever that means.) They also want someone with at least three years experience in ad sales who already lives in L.A. and has an “entrepreneurial attitude—overcome any obstacle, creative, willing to be an evangelist for a new product.” (Again with the evangelist stuff?) For someone with the qualifications, it does sound like a pretty sick job—I’m sure you could work yourself onto an episode or two! [Fashionista] Keep reading »
I basically had a hernia when I encountered Brad and Taylor (from “The Rachel Zoe Project”) while out and about at Fashion’s Night Out. The twosome were having a grand ol’ time — The Zoe was nowhere to be found — and there didn’t sem to be any of the trademark tension seen on the TV show. In fact, Taylor couldn’t wait to plant one on Brad’s cheek when I begged them for a photo. Highlight of my evening. (Style Note: Brad was wearing his signature bow tie and white patent leather wing tips. Copycatting him ASAP.) [NYC, 9/10/09] Keep reading »
