The Grammy Award nominees were announced last night and the results were about what you’d expect — lots of nominations for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Lorde, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry Justin Timberlake and, yes, Robin Thicke. I’m most excited that Kendrick Lamar got a lot of love, but am DISMAYED that Janelle Monae was overlooked. Check out the full list of nominees after the jump! Keep reading »
The American Music Awards are basically the poor man’s poor man Grammy Awards — worse than the Billboard Awards but arguably better than the People’s Choice Awards. If you missed the festivities, because you were traveling for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, or watching “The Walking Dead” or football, or clipping your toenails, NOT TO WORRY — I watched and will recap every single moment I remember (after four hours of sleep and some lukewarm coffee) in GIFs and video clips! Check it, after the jump… Keep reading »
Taylor Swift has never been afraid of wearing red, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in this color red — and it looks amazing on her. Call it Burgundy, cranberry, maroon or oxblood (if you’re nasty), I think TayTay may have found her all-growns-up signature color. And I love how she’s gone monochromatic from lips to toe — although I’m not sure I’m a fan of those shooties. Mostly because their existence forces me to use the word “shootie” in a sentence, but that’s not really Taylor’s fault. Otherwise, well played, girl! [Photos: Getty]
You know she is freaking out about this: Taylor Swift is gearing up to perform at Kensington Palace this month for William and Kate! On November 26, she will serenade the royals and their attendees at the Winter Whites Gala, which will benefit Centrepoint, a charity that assists homeless young people. Taylor is “really stoked” about the invitation and “very, very honored.” This is her first performance at a royal engagement, and says she’s practicing her etiquette to get ready. When she was asked how she’ll address Prince William, Taylor said it would be presumptuous of her to assume she’d get to speak to them at all. “First, I’ll just be polite enough to not assume I’m going to get to meet them,” she said. Awww, what a well-mannered thing to say. James Blunt will also be performing, as will Jon Bon Jovi, who will win a special award for his humanitarian work. Something tells me Taylor will be the only one who gets invited over by Kate afterwards to hang out.
My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail or something. [People] [Image via WENN]
