2014: The Year In Celebrities Who Inspire Love/Hate

We expect celebrities to be perfect, either in that they’re totally loveable or totally detestable — but so often, that isn’t the case. Check out our gallery of celebrities who were polarizing in 2014, but who aren’t always what they’re made out to be.

Taylor Swift’s 2014 Style Journey

This was a big year for Taylor Swift: she discovered she’s a feminist, her album went platinum, and she went on an epic style odyssey and finished the year a whole different woman (that is, if you believe the clothes make the gal). Let’s explore Taylor’s 2014 sartorial journey…

4 Stupid Ways Everyone Deals With Breakups

4 Stupid Ways Everyone Deals With Breakups

Ahh, l’amour. Or, as the French call it, “le humpy jumpy.” It’s a funny thing us humans do to each other, getting all stupid in love with one another, touching tongues, watching Jennifer Aniston films, and feeling this intense longing for the presence of someone else in a way that curiously wanes over time and sometimes even turns into resentment. But the reasons for how and why we love are not important for us just now, no, we’re going to focus on what happens when that love is gone and we’re all mopey and shitty and depressed. Taylor Swift Will Sing Her Music And Her Music Only

“I’m not going to be one of those artists who walks in [to a room with songwriters] and says, ‘I don’t know, what do you want to write about?’ or one of those things where they say, ‘So what’s going on in your life?,’ and I tell them and then they have to write a song about it. I wouldn’t be a singer if I weren’t a songwriter. I have no interest in singing someone else’s words.”

Taylor Swift has been named the recipient of Billboard Magazine’s Woman of the Year Award, and opened up to the music mag about her many struggles and triumphs that took place over the last year, particularly those from her mega-success crossover album, 1989. Aside from detailing her difficulties in going pop, the 24-year-old reinforced the fact that she writes all of her own music, and more importantly, her own rules. If you ever thought you had a chance of Taylor singing one of your tunes, we hate to burst your bubble, but it won’t be happening. Girlfriend is 100 percent authentic and her songs are, and will always be, her own. That’s precisely why we love her. [Billboard]

13 Things That Happen When You Send Taylor Swift Lyrics to Your Tinder Matches

13 Things That Happen When You Send Taylor Swift Lyrics to Your Tinder Matches

Tinder is a battlefield. Swipe left or swipe right, and within seconds you can find yourself connected to your crush of the week, or a “nightmare dressed like a daydream.” Or worse. A ghost, aka matches that never message you first. It’s a Tinder epidemic, since guys do essentially swipe right “at everything,” it could take hours, days, months for Mike, 27 to shoot you a “hey” or “sup,” (tragic, I know).

As a hopeless romantic, I decided to make the first move, with a little help from fellow hopeless romantic, Taylor Swift. By making the first move, I mean only quoting lyrics from her 1989 album. Every single track, one match at a time. Read more on Tres Sugar…
