Vanity Fair Shoots A “Thelma & Louise” 20th-Anniversary Spread

That headline probably made you think, “Has it really been 20 years?” But for real, it’s been two decades since “Thelma & Louise” came out. Apparently, stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis headed to Florida last week to shoot an anniversary spread for Vanity Fair. We won’t get to see the photos for a few months, but I am crossing my fingers for a naked Brad Pitt cameo. [NY Post] Keep reading »

Susan Sarandon Hates Hearing Young Women Body Snark Themselves

“I wouldn’t want to be 20 now. I know so much more, and I’m much more comfortable in my skin, saggy as it is. … When I hear young girls complaining about superficial things … You’re at the peak of your physical beauty right now! Just enjoy it and stop worrying about your thighs being too big. If you’re upset with how you look at 25, life’s going to be tough.”

Why Susan Sarandon Never Married Tim Robbins

“I’ve always liked the idea of choosing to be with somebody. I thought that if you didn’t get married you wouldn’t take each other for granted as easily. I don’t know if after twenty-something years that was still true.”

– Susan Sarandon explains why she never tied the knot with Tim Robbins, her former partner of 20+ years. Well, Susan, the two of you certainly lasted a lot longer than many married celebrity couples, so you did somethin’ right. Sigh. Still not over this breakup. Susan Sarandon Working On A Ping-Pong Reality Show

Susan Sarandon may have lost her marbles—or, uh, her ping pong balls. Last December, she and her dude of 23 years, Tim Robbins, split. Next thing you know, Susan was seen constantly hanging out with Jonathan Bricklin, a 31-year-old who is her fellow investor in SPiN, a ping-pong club in New York City. Now, Susan has announced that they are working on a reality TV show together about the ping-pongers who spend their days and nights at SPiN. “It won’t be the ‘Jersey Shore,’” says Susan, who also says she is the “Johnny Appleseed of ping-pong.” “It’s more of an episodic documentary. We’re trying to invent something you haven’t seen before that follows a bunch of people in this crazy little subculture. … We’re just in the early filming stages now.” Keep reading »

Quotable: Susan Sarandon Is Flying High After Split

“I did a movie a long time ago where I had to fly a glider. You get towed up in the air by a plane, and it’s loud and annoying. And at some point you pull the cord and you’re suddenly floating, and in your mind it makes absolutely no sense. But it’s exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. That’s where I am now.”

Did Susan Sarandon Leave Tim Robbins For A Ping Pong Player?

Santa just shoved a big honkin’ piece of gossip down our stocking a day early: a source tells Gawker that Susan Sarandon split from Tim Robbins, her beau of 23 years, for Jonathan Bricklin, a 31-year-old investor in a Manhattan ping pong club. For those of you who live outside the NYC area, yes, our fair city has an “exclusive” ping pong social club called Spin that members pay $100 to attend. Bricklin is an entrepreneur behind Spin and Sarandon has always been an, um, enthusiastic supporter.

We can’t tell if we’re more bowled over by the ping pong angle, or how the 63-year-old actress is allegedly boning a man 30 years younger than her. (It’s the “Madonna effect.”) All we have to say is: Susan Sarandon, you dog, you! [Gawker] Keep reading »
