Stinky Summer Feet No More

Ladies, let’s admit that stinky feet can be a problem in the summer, especially since most of us haven’t mastered looking chic while wearing socks with sandals. (Never, ever.) But there is a way to keep your feet and shoes odor-free this summer. Silver Linings are thin shoe inserts infused with Agion Antimicrobial, a silver-based technology that prevents odor-causing bacterial and fungal growth, like yeast and mold. Yum! Silver Linings will keep your feet and shoes stink-free all summer long.

How Not To Pack For A Trip

Last week I went down to San Diego for a few days. In theory, it should have been a very simple trip to pack for: throw a couple pairs of cutoffs and a swimsuit in a duffel bag and you’re good to go. In reality, I jammed a rucksack full of roughly 200 pounds of all-weather clothing and forgot my toothbrush. That’s right: I am The Worst Packer In The World, and today I’d like to share a few of my bad habits, because if you do exactly the opposite of me, chances are you’ll end up with a perfectly packed suitcase… Keep reading »

Wear What You Eat: Lemonade

The only thing I like better than shopping (and I like shopping A LOT) is eating. And if I could somehow combine those two things, well, that would be magical. And that’s why I’ve created this new feature, “Wear what you eat,” wherein I create outfits and shopping guides themed around some of my favorite summer treats. First up, cool and delicious lemonade. Take a sip and check out our summer picks. Keep reading »

Clutch This And Don’t Let Go

Everyone needs a simple leather clutch in their arsenal. This American Apparel medium-sized pouch can fit most of your essentials, plus a small paperback. It comes in so many neutral and punchy colors, like rose bowl and buttercup, that you’ll have a difficult time choosing just one. But at $50, you can afford to pick two or three.

HUDSON: Denim You Can Tolerate In The Summer

Even if you’re a die-hard jeans girl 10 months out of the year, when summer arrives, heavy denim is probably the last thing you reach for. But HUDSON jeans’ spring/summer 2011 collection is denim you can actually tolerate in the heat. Inspired by the culture of Dogtown and Venice, CA in the ’70s, the collection is laid-back, but also has a European edge. The jeans are made of lightweight denim that has been softened and come in faded red, pink, yellow hues. But even if colored denim isn’t your thing, HUDSON jeans are also available in light and medium wash blue and white–in styles ranging from skinny to shorts to flare to cropped. HUDSON continues to play with the DIY elements, like repair stitches, frayed edges, exposed button flies, and distressed holes, I loved last year. But the two jean styles that grabbed my attention were a pair of red cropped jeans and pair of white “N.1 AXL” skinny jeans with leather lacing along the back of the calf, from the HUDSON by Georgia-May Jagger collaboration. See more pics after the jump. [HUDSON] Keep reading »

Cheapskate: Hayden-Harnett’s Summer Sale

Amelia turned me on to Hayden-Harnett last year, and I’ve been hooked ever since. This super cool Brooklyn brand has tough leather and nylon bags, retro-style swimsuits, and edgy fashions. And while we’d love to go on a Hayden-Harnett shopping spree once a month, our inner financial planner warns us not to. Instead, we just check back often for the super sales that occur frequently throughout the year. Right now, Hayden-Harnett is trying to move its summer merchandise, which means you can snap up rompers, maillots, and clutches for a tiny fraction of the original price. But you must act fast because sizes are limited. Find the items that we want in our closets right now, after the jump, and be sure to check out Hayden-Harnett for yourself. Keep reading »

Cheapskate: Ruche

Ruche is a site we stumbled upon and instantly fell in love with. All the clothes look like items you’d find in an old trunk in your fashionable grandmother’s attic, but with a modern twist. The jewelry looks even more precious and Old World. What’s even better is that Ruche is a very affordable site. I recall seeing only one item priced above $50. Check out the items that made my heart flutter, after the jump. Keep reading »

Your Go-To Summer Dress

Summer months are meant for languid afternoon picnics, happy hours that turn into evenings out, and long boozy brunches. The last thing we have time for when it’s warm outside is thinking about what to wear, and though maxi dresses are a simple go-to, they always need that embellishment that only jewelry can bring. But along with this long white dress comes a built-in dramatic gold necklace, meaning we’re dressed and ready to go before our boyfriends. And that’s an accomplishment.

First Look: Target X Harlem

Just when you thought the designs from Target’s designer collaborations were becoming both boring and too outrageous, Target teams up with Isabel and Ruben Toledo and Stephen Burrows for the collection Target X Harlem. The mega-retailer seems to have been influenced by the neighborhood of one of its newest stores, which is set to open July 25 on 116th Street in Harlem. Besides the super saturated and bright colors, which I’m guessing are a nod to the diverse ethnicities of Harlem, I don’t see much of the neighborhood’s flavor. However, I do love quite a few of the pieces, especially the swimsuit ($34.99) and towel ($24.99) by Isabel and Ruben Toledo and the sexy summertime dress ($34.99) by Stephen Burrows above. The collection hits the Harlem Target first on July 25 and the Target website and select stores on Aug. 1. So you have just enough time to get your money’s worth between then and Labor Day. A Romper For Your Summer Festivities

Rompers have become a must-have item for beating the sweltering summer heat. This cute and breezy Victoria’s Secret romper pulls double-duty: it works as a cover-up at the beach but is also festively chic for a BBQ at a friend’s house (just add a T-shirt and a little razzle-dazzle). It’s flattering for all body types, and the roomy fit means you can eat as much as you want without fear of a noticeable paunch.
