Tila Tequila Fakes Suicide Attempt

Will some explain to me how Tila Tequila has fans anymore after her antics over the past year? Well, apparently people do still care. Over the weekend, Tila wrote on her website that one of her supposed multiple personalities had smashed everything in her room and sliced up her arm with glass. She posted images of a bloody arm, along with these words:

“People don’t believe I have multiple personalities but this morning the last thing I remember was falling asleep cuz I was so tired. I blacked out and now that I just woke up from excruciating pains all over my body, there was blood and dope everywhere! She is evil! She single handedly smashed and broke EVERYTHING in my bedroom! … There’s even chunks of meet coming out of my arm from the deep slits from her slicing up my arm from all the broken glass! This is so f***** up.”

Many of her readers were concerned and called 911. Of course, when they got there, Tila was completely fine. Keep reading »

Porn Actor Wanted For Murder Falls To His Death

Stephen Clancy Hill, the porn star charged with killing one colleague and injuring two others, committed suicide after an 8-hour police standoff on Saturday. He had been at large since the incident last Tuesday, after fleeing from the scene with the weapon that looked like a samurai sword. This weekend, a SWAT team located Hill and cornered him on the top of a small cliff. The team brought in negotiators in an attempt to coax him away from the edge and into police custody. Officials and onlookers said that the suspect was clutching a sword and continually told police that he was going to kill himself. He eventually scooted off the ledge, falling over 50 feet. News cameras were present and captured the fatal fall. Negotiators said they did what the could to try to take Hill into custody, and that his death was an unfortunate end to the case. Some believe that the fall could have been accidental, but based on Hill’s earlier remarks, police seem to believe that it was suicide. [Newser] Keep reading »

Supermodel Noemie Lenoir Attempted Suicide

French supermodel Noemie Lenoir, who has modeled for Victoria’s Secret and Gap, among others, is recovering in a hospital after being found unconscious in a forest as a result of a failed suicide attempt on Sunday. She apparently consumed a deadly combination of pills and alcohol while staying at ex-boyfriend Claude Makelele’s home in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, on the outskirts of Paris. Lenoir called an ambulance for herself, reporting that she “felt very ill,” but then canceled emergency services. She then went for a walk in the forest that surrounds Makelele’s mansion. A passerby discovered her unconscious body a few hours after her initial call for help. A source says Lenoir was in a state of distress and was visibly ill after being revived. She is being treated for an overdose and is recovering well in a hospital.

My boyfriend’s mom committed suicide a couple of days ago, most likely from stress from her divorce, financial issues, and selling of their house. Right now he has the support of his immediate and extended family. I’ve been blessed with zero death experience, so I’m not sure how this would affect him as a person, me as a person, and our relationship. I’m definitely going to be next to him all the way, but is there anything I should expect that will come out of this? I’d like to be prepared so that I can take everything head-on without doubt. We’re both in high school, and we’ve dated for about a year and a half. Please don’t tell me that I have to break up with him because I shouldn’t have to experience this during high school; I’m going to stick with him all the way. — Worried

9 Teens Charged After Classmate Commits Suicide

Nine Massachusetts teens were charged today with statutory rape, violation of civil rights, criminal harassment and disturbing a school assembly in conjunction with a bullying incident. Back in January, 15-year-old Phoebe Prince was jumped by a group of male and female students in the school library and hallways. Phoebe was verbally harassed, physically abused, and even raped as she was making her way home from school. Why? The group was angry that she had briefly dated one of the guys and they wanted to teach her a lesson. Shortly after, Phoebe took her own life. What a lesson. Keep reading »

Model Daul Kim Commits Suicide In Paris

The writing was on the wall. Twenty-year-old model Daul Kim, who authorities believe committed suicide yesterday, gave indications that she felt pressured by the fashion industry on her blog, I Like to Fork Myself, and in interviews. “I’m usually very miserable, so I reward myself with a fur coat every year,” Kim told RUSSH magazine in October. On Oct. 30, she wrote on her blog that she “was mad depressed and overworked.” Another entry reads: “the more i gain the more lonely it is … i know i’m like a ghost.” And her last entry, dated Nov. 18, was titled “say hi to forever” and she embedded British singer Jim Rivers’ “I Go Deep” video. Her boyfriend, who wished not to be named in the press, found Daul hanged in her Paris apartment the day after that. Keep reading »

France Telecom Suicide Epidemic Now Tallies 25

It sounds like something out of a mind-control horror movie: France Télécom, the European telecommunications giant, has now seen 25 of their employees commit suicide in the past 18 months. The most recent incident occurred yesterday when a 48-year-old engineer with a wife and family hanged himself in his home. These suicides aren’t coincidental. Victims have left notes indicating that the reasons they took their lives had to do with highly stressful work conditions and company policies. France Télécom, which employs upwards of 100,000 people, began significantly cutting down its workforce and implementing new structures last year, which brought fear, new stress and oppressive management to the workplace. A new evaluation system also put employees on a scale of personal achievement, putting added pressure on the individual. Wrote one woman in a suicide email to her father: “I can’t accept the new reorganization in my department. I’m getting a new boss and I’d rather die. I’m leaving my handbag with my mobiles and keys in the office, but I’ll take my donor card with me, you never know.” Keep reading »

Parents Blame Facebook For Their Daughter’s Suicide

Here’s the saddest news ever: Holly Grogan, a 15-year-old Catholic schoolgirl in Britain, jumped off a road bridge and killed herself last week, allegedly after a barrage of mean messages on her Facebook wall appeared. Her parents blame “cyberbullying” and said in a statement, “Holly struggled to cope with the huge pressures placed upon her by the modern complexities of ‘friendship groups’ and social networking. Woman Jumps In Front Of Train, Search For Body Ends In Her Bed

French police were hurriedly searching for the body of a 58-year-old woman who threw herself in front of a train on Tuesday, assuming the 93 miles-per-hour impact would have sent her body flying. There was only a little blood on the platform and on the train itself, so the police brought in helicopters to help in the search. Hours and hours later, they stopped searching when the woman’s partner found her at home in bed. Apparently, the woman dragged herself home with only a broken arm and a few other injuries. Sadly, this wasn’t the woman’s first suicide attempt either. [Reuters]

Um, the woman survived a train going nearly 100 miles an hour? Maybe she’s experiencing some sort of “Groundhog Day” thing and every time she tries to kill herself, she wakes up in bed to “I’ve Got You Babe” and curses her existence? Keep reading »

Webcam Records Woman’s Suicide Attempt

“Your daughter is going to die right now” were the words that jarred Mohamed Hossain from sleep yesterday in Phoenix. His daughter tried to hang herself after her boyfriend, whom she had been speaking with in a chat room via a webcam, told her he was moving out of the country. The webcam continued to broadcast the suicide attempt over the internet, and it was the boyfriend who called Hossain and his wife to warn them of what their daughter was doing in their family room. Police don’t think anyone else was in the chat room, but they’re investigating because they’re worried she might be victimized by someone posting the images on the web. She’s listed in stable condition at a Phoenix hospital. [MyFoxPhoenix]

Apparently, web suicides aren’t that uncommon, but could they be an indication of the increasing vanity of our culture? Or are they simply high-tech cries for help? Keep reading »
