Do Not Want: Mules

Do Not Want: Wang Fur Boots
Ugh, these boots are terrible. Read More »

I say if you’re going to bother wearing a heel, go high: this indecisive mid-point isn’t working for me. High-end designers such as Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, and Prada may have marched them out on their Spring/Summer 2012 runways with aplomb, but the mule doesn’t translate well to real girl style, unless perhaps she goes all out with head-to-toe vintage, no apologies. While Stylelist, which is usually right on trend, insists that you should invest in a pair, I say it’s a definite don’t. What’s your take: would you wear this classic, grandma-inspired footwear? [J. The Worst Celebrity Denim Outfits

Celebrities often credit their red carpet ensembles to their stylists, but judging by these denim looks — their stylists didn’t always do a good job. Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson, Alicia Keys and Beyoncé have all worn double denim, high-waisted mom jeans and cutout vests that make you ask, “What were they thinking?”

That’s not to say that no one can rock those looks –- Kate Moss did double denim the right way at Mulberry’s spring 2012 show this week and Pippa Middleton looked cute in a denim dress a few months ago. But alas, not everyone can look as good as they do in denim, so check out the slideshow to see which celebs wore a denim disaster and tell us your thoughts below! Read more… Keep reading »

New York Fashion Week’s Most Outrageous

While we love seeing all the polished, elegant ensembles on the runway and in the front row, sometimes New York Fashion Week’s most memorable moments are its most outrageous.

This season’s shows had plenty of outré outfits (especially at Jeremy Scott), crazily garbed guests (Nicki Minaj) and unexpected outings (Carine Roitfeld and Anna Dello Russo busting out their Karaoke moves at Manhattan hotspot The Westway).

Here are our nominees for the most outrageous. Read more… Keep reading »

Michelle Williams: Style Evolution

When Michelle Williams first appeared on the scene, she played second fiddle to Katie Holmes in teen drama “Dawson’s Creek.” While Holmes went off to marry Tom Cruise and “design” a “clothing line,” Williams has become a successful, award-winning actress. Recently seen in “Blue Valentine,” “Synecdoche, New York” and “Shutter Island,” Williams will next take on the role of Marilyn Monroe in “My Week With Marilyn.” The young actress is recognizable on the red carpet for her platinum blonde pixie cut, designer duds and neutral tones.

Take a peek in our gallery below to see Williams’ evolution from teen on a creek to A-list actress. Read more… Keep reading »

Video: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Burberry Body TV Ad

You’ve seen the controversial Burberry Body fragrance print ad starring a nearly nude Rosie Huntington-Whiteley dressed in just a rose gold satin trench coat. Well, check out the Mario Testino-filmed TV advert where the “Transformers 4″ actress strips down while spritzing on the sexy new floral fragrance.
“It’s the Burberry world translated into a scent, embodying every facet of the brand including our music, collections, scent, platforms and communities,” said Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief creative officer. ” We wanted to create something very British, feminine, timeless, distinctive and effortlessly sensual, with the attitude and energy of our iconic trench coat at the heart of it.” Read more… Keep reading »

Style Evolution: Katie Holmes

Super stylish Katie Holmes, star of the upcoming Guillermo del Toro flick, “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” may have a successful secondary career as a fashion designer for Holmes & Yang, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t had some style mishaps in her past. Summer Trend: Stacked Friendship Bracelets

ummer camp dressing is the antithesis of style — Color War T-Shirts, unflattering denim overalls and hiking socks typically fill the cubbies of eager campers — but one trend we’re ready to revive is the friendship bracelet. No longer reserved for 14 years old BFFs, this tradition is an easy way to add a playful spin to your adult wardrobe. Pair your bright and braided jewelry with a menswear-inspired watch or sophisticated bangles. Lately, designers and DIY-enthusiasts have been incorporating rhinestone gems to give the playful jewelry a touch of glam. Read more… Keep reading »

Cindy Sherman For MAC: The Weirdest, Most Awesome Collaboration Yet?

From Hello Kitty and Wonder Woman to RuPaul and Rodarte, MAC collaborations have pretty much run the gamut from one side of the weird/kooky/cool pop culture spectrum to the other. Just last week, the cosmetics company announced that Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin (interestingly enough) would represent the brand in their 2012 Viva Glam campaign. The kitsch factor runs high with MAC, and seems to underlie almost every project they take on (the Disney Venomous Villians collection?). And that sense of humor definitely shows through in its newest collaboration with off-kilter-but-awesome American photographer Cindy Sherman, whose daring, conceptual self-portraits question and challenge the way women are portrayed — and often stereotyped — in society. Summer Hairstyle Tips For Every Length And Texture

Whether summer is a hair-raising or hair-flattening time for you, the heat, humidity and sun can turn anyone’s bad hair day into a bad hair season.

Luckily, there are some tricks of the trade to help you rock your locks all summer long.

But you might want to alter your length based on your locale. “Depending on where you live, longer hairstyles are great for summer,” says celebrity stylist and salon owner, Billy Lowe. “This gives way to those sexy wind-blown locks that seem effortless. But in humid environments where hair may have a tendency to swell, shorter styles are often en vogue and they are easier to maintain.”

Each hair length and texture should also be treated with specific direction during the steamy summer months. Here are tips for every type. Read more… Keep reading »
