HELP! I just watched Tina Fey’s ‘SNL’ episode that premiered a few weeks ago and I am obsessed with the red dress she is wearing in the opening monologue. The only links I could find with “Tina Fey” and “red dress” were pretty much only concerned with her recent nip slip and not her actual dress- ha! Help me out, please! – Katy
First of all, Katy, I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to your request. Damn Gmail and it’s weird sorting! Anyway, I wasn’t able to figure out who designed the dress Tina was wearing during her opening monologue oh so many weeks ago, but let’s face it, it was probably a high-end designer piece with a hefty price tag. The good news is that this particular silhouette is everywhere and there were so many similar options that I actually had to narrow it down to just seven — three with similar short and/or cap-sleeves, and four with slightly longer or three-quarter sleeves. But all in bright fire engine red. Check ‘em out below! Keep reading »
“Hey y’all, Looking for this dress or a way cheaper version of this look Kat Dennings wore to the ‘Thor’ premiere. The dress, the lips, the nails, the shoes… everything! Can you help?” — Ashley
Ashley, I could not agree with you more. Kat Dennings is stunning in this Naeem Khan cocktail dress. The neck-to-knee burgundy embroidery accentuates her every curve, and Kat’s choice to pair this dress with simple eye makeup, matching lipstick, nude pumps, and glittery purse makes for an alluring combination. If I could find this dress for less, I would be wearing it right now. Unfortunately, I’m gonna guestimate that this Naeem Khan cocktail dress will sell for over $1,000 once it’s available. The good news is, you can recreate this look by substituting the red dress for some of these affordable options…
I just got these gorgeous boots in grey as a gift. I’m very much a sneakers girl, so I have no idea how to wear them. Can you help with some outfit ideas? – Jen
Well, first of all, bless the person who gave these to you because they are so freaking cool. I’m salivating. As for how to wear them? Girl, the good news is, you can wear them with a lot. Given that you described yourself as a sneakers girl, I’m guessing your typical style is casual, and perhaps a bit sporty or hip.To show you just how versatile these boots are, I put together three fall outfits that I hope are right up your alley! “With winter approaching I’m getting into my usual fall dilemma (which I have obviously failed to solve). To be totally honest, I am relatively particular about shoes. In the summer I wear flip flops, strappy flat sandals, toms and for work and nice dinners out, ballet flats. I basically refuse to wear heels unless I absolutely must. I can’t wear boots because of high arches (if I can get them on, they usually pinch my feet so much that they go numb) and this applies to almost every pair of boots I’ve ever tried on or tried to try on. My question is, what shoes can I wear to be semi-dressed up in the winter, for birthday parties, nice dinners out, or on a more casual day to work (I’m a lawyer)? You know, just for day to day, cute shoe wearing. To give you an idea of style, I shop a lot at J. Crew and Anthropologie, but don’t really get into trends too much. Please help!!!” – Emily
Girl, I’m with you. As I’ve gotten older, my foot pain has increased and my willingness to suffer through it in order to wear heels has waned. Luckily, there are a wealth of flats that are just as chic as sky-high heels. Based on the way you described your style, I’m inclined to recommend pointy-toed flats and preppy oxfords and loafers. After the jump, check out the 12 pairs of flats I found, with my suggestions for what to wear them with. Keep reading »

“I will be a reluctant bridesmaid in a family member’s wedding next month. The bride is having us wear silver evening shoes, either sandals or open-toe pumps, with this dusty purple (‘wisteria,’ hello) gown. Now, buying silver shoes on a budget is pretty much a one-way ticket to trashy town, but I refuse to spend over $200 on a pair of shoes that I’ll probably never wear again. Can you help me find a pair of affordable silver open-toe shoes that aren’t a death sentence for my already-compromised fashion sense?” — Sulking About Silver
Ah, the grin-and-bear-it bridesmaid. We’ve all been there, and some fare worse than others. Consider yourself fortunate: that dress is actually pretty alright! Of course, it’s probably made of uber-flammable taffeta or some shit, so be careful should you find yourself inebriated and in a close proximity to candles, which you undoubtedly will. Keep reading »
I received these shoes as a gift recently and I am racking my brain trying to figure out what to wear with them that is daytime casual. I feel like an orange dress would be too much. Any thoughts?––Gina
First off Gina, hi! I gotta say, I think it’s kind of weird to gift someone a pair of shoes. Shoes are so particular and personal, but then again, maybe I’m just prejudiced because the one time somebody wanted to buy me shoes it was really weird. Anyways! Those shoes have a lot of personality, which means that you should keep the rest of your outfit pretty tame. Let the shoes do the talking (and walking, as it were). Keep reading »
“I recently purchased this Oh My Love Textured Skater Dress from ASOS, and need help styling this gem! Got any advice?” — Megan
You know, normally, I’m all, “demure, demure, demure, don’t look like you’re up in the clurb when you’re actually going to the bank,” but something tells me that a woman whose email address includes the words “fashion diva” can handle a little wild style. After the jump, black and yellow, black and yellow.

Lovely reader Elise left the following question on our Facebook page:
Would it be possible to do a slideshow on shorts-at-work? So many of the shorts styles are too revealing to work, wearing jeans all the time is way hot, and wearing skirts all the time is way too girly for my .com office! Frisky to the fashion rescue?
Of course we’d be happy to help! Shorts at work can be a tricky proposition… Keep reading »
I realize this post was not meant to be inspirational, but can someone PLEASE tell me where on earth that swimsuit is from? I kind of love it. I would look nothing like this in it but I still want one! – TheFriskyFan
The heart wants what it wants, and if you want Farrah Abraham’s bathing suit, well, I’m not going to stop you. We happen to know exactly who makes Farrah’s sparkly, probably-not-waterproof swimsuit. It’s made by Poolside Collection by Karina Copado and it’s $240. You might notice that the Poolside Collection site has cropped out Farrah’s face. I’m guessing they don’t want the association.
