Last week I watched “This is England ’86,” the follow up mini-series to the 2006 film “This is England,” about a crew of non-racist skinhead kids in England in the 1980s. Starring the same group of relative unknown featured in the original film, “This is England ’86″ centers on the story of Lol, a young skinhead girl who’s at a crossroads in her romantic relationship and who must make a difficult family decision. I fell in love with the actress playing Lol–Vicky McClure, and her mod skinhead style. Lol is tomboy-ish without losing her essential femininity, tough as nails but sweet to the core.
