Wash Your Hair With Beer. Want to make your hair shinier and have more volume? Skip the hair conditioner and break out the bottle of beer! Scientifically speaking, beer is good for your hair because it has protein that strengthens your hair. Not only that, but it has a low pH and is a mild astringent to help keep your hair clean. And no, you won’t smell like a frat party. Read more…
What You Don’t Know About Fabric Care Symbols
American fabric care labels can be difficult enough to read, but internationally-manufactured clothing often provide different variations of cleaning care symbols. Instead, we’ll avoid the guesswork (and possibly damaging clothes) by getting to know these symbols and their meanings. Read more…

5 Reasons To Wear Color With Color
I remember the first time I was told that black and white should only be worn with … each other. Maybe a little gray or brown, if you’re feeling crazy. I scraped my jaw off the floor, snickered, and promptly dismissed this restrictive advice as total bunk.
But it lingered in my brain. And, over time, I began to notice that color-on-color pairings looked richer, livelier, and more sophisticated than color-on-neutral pairings. When several shades are combined in carefully crafted ensembles, the colors look their best and so do their wearers. This isn’t to say that colors should NEVER be worn with neutrals. Oh hell no. There are plenty of ways to create intentional mixes that include both colors and black or white. Or both, or other neutrals. But I believe that learning to pair multiple colors is a skill worth cultivating, especially as The Frisky celebrates New Year, New You month. Here’s why… Keep reading »
How To Be Organized: What The Average Purse Weighs And How To Organize It
“Do you have a pen?” my friend asked.
“Yeah sure, just go into my purse,” I said.
But what my friend found wasn’t a pen, but approximately 5 handfuls of receipts, a small notebook and 4 lipsticks/lip glosses. There was at pen, at some point, in this fashionable garbage pail that I call a purse. And even worse, I had actually downsized from a larger satchel to the smallest purse I could get without it being a clutch, because I had noticed that the former just attracted stuff like a junkyard magnet. Style Stealer: What’s Black, White & Red All Over?
Earlier this week, Olivia Wilde was named Revlon’s new Global Brand Ambassador, which we imagine means she’s got to look pretty and wear Revlon around the world. Shouldn’t be too hard for Ms. Wilde, who’s one of the most gorgeous faces in Hollywood at the moment. To commemorate the occasion, she wore this polka dot skirt and breathtaking Lanvin blouse. Of course, Wilde can afford the more than $1,000 that her Lanvin look costs, while we can, alas, not. So that’s why we’ve dug out some similar items that will give you her look for way less.
