“Shameless” star Emmy Rossum has really been carving out her signature style lately, and I like what I see. Her new look is very ladylike (a lot of lace and skater skirts), a little vintage (retro satchels and cat eye sunglasses), and concentrates on a specific color palette (mostly white, black, and red, with a few pastels thrown in). She’s also much more matchy-matchy than most modern celebs, fond of wearing perfectly coordinated shoes, purses, belts, and sunglasses. I’m usually not super into that look, but on Emmy, it works. Taylor Swift went and got herself a cool bobbed haircut with swoopy bangs and all of the sudden she’s my style muse. Maybe it’s just that her cool new cut is making me take notice of her and thus her fashion choices of late, but whatever, I am seriously coveting everything Taylor has been wearing lately. Whether she’s in head to toe black or working a touch of oxblood, lil’ Swift always looks pulled together without trying too hard. I’ve always felt a special connection to Lily Allen, because we have the same birthday (May 2nd, represent!), the same middle name, and we are both really good at rhyming. Obviously, we’re on the same page fashion-wise too. I love her mix of flirty, feminine dresses with more daring high-fashion pieces, and, of course, some comfy sneakers thrown in for good measure (we Taureans sure do like to be comfy). Click through to check out some of Lily’s recent street style looks, and if you have a May 2nd birthday, the middle name “Rose,” and/or consider yourself an above-average rhymer, please email me an application to join me and Lily’s Special Friendship Club.
You know how a new haircut can inspire you to overhaul your entire look? I’m thinking that’s what happened with Jennifer Hudson and her sassy, spiky pixie cut. She’s always been drop dead gorgeous — no matter her size or hairstyle — but once she lopped off her long hair, her outfits got a little more edgy and exciting, too. Jennifer can definitely pull of high-fashion looks on the red carpet, but her street style seamlessly blends classic menswear with fierce, feminine pieces (hello, sky-high stiletto booties!). The J.Hud twist? She almost always throws in something sporty — a satin varsity jacket, drapey jersey tank top, etc, and she loves to play with a color palette of gray and black. Click through to check out seven of Jennifer’s fabulous, post-pixie cut outfits that caught our eye!
Before Jennifer Lawrence usurped the title of “Gorgeous Actress Everyone Wants To Be BFF With,” it belonged to Emma Stone. She’s smart, hilarious, beautiful, sassy, stylish — can you blame me for having “brunch with Emma” on my bucket list? Emma’s casual style is laid back and a little hipster-y (hello, skinny jeans and Ray-Bans). Let’s take a look at 10 of her recent looks for a little fashion inspiration, shall we? But be warned: clicking through this slideshow will definitely cause you to want to buy an oversized coat and a really fabulous pair of ankle boots immediately.
Confession: I am constantly getting Olivia Munn confused with both Olivia Wilde (same name) and Aubrey Plaza (similar face). She’s certainly not the first celeb I’ve had trouble keeping track of for whatever reason, but after some extensive Googling and looking through a ton of photos of her amazing street style outfits, I might finally have carved out a specific spot in my brain for Ms. Munn.
