Catherine’s Style Diary: Thursday

What I’m Wearing Today:

I feel very French today in my striped shirt and scarves. Yes, that’s scarves, plural. I tied together two from my favorite thrift store, Village Discount Outlet, and since they’re made from the same super soft cotton, they look like one perfectly sized, multi-patterned scarf. Keep reading »

The Frisky’s Chic On The Street: Breezy In Sydney

A maxi dress on a summer day gives a sense of easy, comfortable style. Alex, looking like a hybrid of Penny Lane and Marcia Brady, wears a General Pants maxi dress. It’s one of the best we’ve seen Down Under. If you don’t have a cool breeze at your disposal, might as well look like one! Keep reading »

Catherine’s Style Diary: Wednesday

What I’m Wearing Today:

  • Mint Jodi Arnold Dress
  • Gray Tights From Strawberry
  • Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Shoes
  • Seiko Watch

We have a big fancy work party tonight, and I wanted to look extra nice so I wore a new dress. I like how it’s roomy while still being flattering. (Yes, Amelia has the same one; I copied her.) Also, if you haven’t noticed, I have a thing for gray tights. They are the most versatile color of hosiery, in my opinion, and Strawberry, the cheap trend store by our office, always has some in stock. Keep reading »

Catherine’s Style Diary: Tuesday

What I’m Wearing Today:

I have trouble walking when I wear tights because they make my shoes really slippery, so today I put a pair of semi-hidden yellow ankle socks on top of this maroon pair. I say “semi” because Amelia noticed them and said, “Are those your bowling socks?!” (They are.) [We bought the same pair when we were playing in a bowling league last winter and needed socks. -- Editor] I hadn’t planned on anyone seeing them, but now I think the pop of color is kind of fun. Social Networking For Trench Coats

Some people love their Twitter; others are obsessed with Facebook. Burberry is providing fans with a brand-new social media site: Art of the Trench. The brand has tapped none other than street style photographer Scott Schuman to capture countless images of people sporting their trenches, providing inspiration to the world on trench styling. The site is one of those you can sit on for hours, clicking back and forth between images to see a multitude of people captured by The Sartorialist. Comment, build your own trench profile, and submit a picture of yourself wearing one for the chance to be featured on the site. In the future, a history of the trench will appear, complete with a time line of events and “original black-and-white footage of the first wearers of Burberry’s trenchcoats.” No one should be surprised that Burberry is getting into the networking side of the internet, as the brand live-streamed the spring 2010 collection on their Facebook page, sends out e-brochures instead of printed materials, and plans to create digital look books in the next year. But we have to wonder whether social networking for your jacket might be a tad much? [WWD] Keep reading »

The Frisky’s Chic On The Street: L.A. Airport Style

Shanel, snagged outside LAX, looks both comfortable and fabulous in a New York City screen-print tank and silver Dr. Martens combat boots. The pop of pink on her American Apparel bra and luggage tag iis a sure sign that this girl is ready for some fun. Talk about traveling in style. Keep reading »

Catherine’s Style Diary: Monday

Since you guys seemed to like our September series “What Are People Wearing Today?” documenting the ups and downs of The Frisky staff’s wardrobe choices, we’re launching a similar daily feature. “Style Diary” will follow one Frisky girl for a week, showing what she wore each day and giving a little insight into her style philosophy. We hope you enjoy it, and feel free to share what you’re wearing, too!!

What I’m Wearing Today:

  • Marc by Marc Jacobs Dress
  • Gap Tights
  • Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Shoes

I bought this dress in a final sale online, so I chose the size I usually wear and hoped for the best since I wouldn’t be able to return it. When I got the dress in the mail, the top part, which is knit, was really loose and hung waaay lower than a scoop-neck should. I thought all was lost, but I took it to an amazingly talented tailor who had the brilliant idea to secretly gather the knit part with a hidden thread. You can’t even tell the dress has been altered! Next time, I want to try wearing it with a button-down shirt underneath. Keep reading »

The Frisky’s Chic On The Street: Faux In Prague

Who needs real fur when fake looks this chic? Arame, visiting Prague from France, is the epitome of fabulous in a faux fur that she bought on Oxford Street in London. The cherry on top is a styling headscarf that only a select few can pull off (hi, Nicole Richie!) without looking like a fashion victim. This chick is totally acing it. Keep reading »

The Frisky’s Chic On The Street: A Hamburglar Sighting In Prague

Staska looks like an adorable, bohemian version of the Hamburglar while on a break from work in Prague. She meticulously chooses her accessories to compliment her look. Where do we start? Check out her two different earrings, the way her socks echo her undershirt, and the red trainers that make it all come together. We’re getting hungry. Keep reading »

The Frisky’s Chic On The Street: Casual In Munich

A touch of military inspiration always looks pulled together. Eva, shopping along Kaufingerstrasse, wears a Zero double-breasted peacoat with cargo pants. She adds the modern touch of a Hallhuber floral scarf so the look is not all utilitarian, but also a little bit femme. Keep reading »
