W Magazine Ages Amber Valetta 120 Years

Models are typically considered ready to be shipped off to the model glue factory before they even hit 25, but in an editorial for the September issue of W magazine, 37-year-old model Amber Valetta was aged a remarkable 120 years. Shot by photographer Steven Klein, Valetta channeled the timelessness of an age-defying Madonna (it can’t be merely coincidence that the copy refers to our heroine as a “material girl”), and stays sultry and supple–even with more than a century’s worth of wear and tear on her. Somebody Broke Justin Timberlake’s Nose!

Who beat Justin Timberlake up? Tell us! Was it you? Was it over a girl? We bet it was over a girl? Oh wait, what? He wasn’t really beat up? This is just a photo from photographer Steven Klein’s Iguatemi Photo Series, which will be shown in Sao Paolo, Brazil, this month? Phew. It wasn’t looking very pretty there for a minute. Madonna Gets Together With Dolce & Gabbana, Produces Sunglasses

Ah, Madonna. So elusive. So enigmatic. So impenetrable. If only she weren’t wearing those dark sunglasses all the time! Then maybe we would know her. Or perhaps not. If you want to throw shade like the Material Girl, you can now, thanks to the fact that Miss M and Dolce & Gabbana are collaborating on a line of sunglasses. The brand-within-a-brand will be called MDG (which sort of sounds like a gyno office, but whatever), the shades will go for $248 to $289 a pair, and the sexy campaign was shot by Steven Klein (natch). “[Madonna] is very exacting and a professional who seeks perfection in everything she does, and this was no exception,” spews Stefano Gabbana. But will wearing them make you super famous? Maybe. [WWD] Keep reading »

H1N1 Is The Height Of Fashion

What’s the latest must-have for the forward-thinking fashionista? H1N1, if the latest provocative layout from photographer Steven Klein for Vogue Italia is to be believed. Previously, Klein has used everything from the Iraq war to the NSA to tell his fashion stories, and this new spread from the November issue is no exception. In it, flame-haired model Rianne ten Haken seems to be grappling with the consequences of living in a contagion-filled world. Surrounded by men in white masks, she ends up collapsed on the floor with no one to help her. Good thing she looks damn good with the swine flu. Check out more images after the jump. Keep reading »

Uma Thurman Graces The Cover Of W Magazine With Her Magnificence

Statuesque actress Uma Thurman, 39, does the cover of W magazine and sits for a feature profile inside. We meet her two children with ex-husband Ethan Hawke (Levon, 7, and Maya, 11), tour her Greenwich Village townhouse, and hear about her fiancé, financier Arpad “Arki” Busson. Because no actress would talk to the media without something to promote, she’s hawking her upcoming movie, “Motherhood,” in which she plays a … mommy blogger? “Kill Bill” it is not. She refuses to trash-talk Hawke, doesn’t have a wedding date set yet, and rocks an engagement ring that could put your eye out. After the jump, a few images from the Steven Klein-shot layout. [W] Keep reading »
