The “girlfriend experience,” or “GFE,” as it’s known on Craigslist, is a type of escorting in which the woman offers services, as it were, more akin to what a girlfriend would offer than, say, a so-called “hooker,” whether that’s kissing, companionship, or conversation. While several reviewers who screened an unfinished version of the movie at this year’s Sundance Film Festival said the movie felt “cold,” and some questioned Soderbergh’s pick of an adult actress in the starring role, the trailer looks pretty awesome.
