In this clip from Vogue Italia, the mag imagines what might happen if QVC were to go really, really ridiculously upscale. The video is a companion piece to Vogue Italia’s January cover, shot by Stephen Meisel, and features models Joan Small, Karlie Kloss, Natasha Poly and Caroline Trentin decked in collections from Chanel, Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Versace, among others. This quirky little clip shows that high fashion might (gasp!) actually have a sense of humor. And oh, the clothes are absolutely stunning. [Vogue Italia]

Prada’s New Ads Feature a Fantasy World Where Models In Prada Pump Their Own Gas

High fashion photographers crack me up sometimes — especially when they explicitly flirt with mixing highbrow couture with lowbrow settings. Take this ad campaign shot by Stephen Meisel for Prada, in which top models Meghan Collison, Natasha Poly, Elise Crombez, Ymre Stiekema and Kathryn Kruger laze around vintage automobiles at a gas station in Prada gear. Girl, if you can afford real Prada, you are NOT pumping your own gas. And actually, you’re not even getting out of your car at the rest stop. According to Prada, though, “The gas station is cast as a central symbol in this post-modern crossroads of new horizons and economic fulfillment, a stage set where fashion, fantasy and the promise of new discoveries collide.” Mmm-kay guys, whatever you say. New Lanvin Fall 09 Campaign: Cat Lady Chic

Crazy cat lady? More like sexy catwoman with panache. Lanvin’s new Fall/Winter 2009 campaign stars these pretty kitties alongside model Kristen McMenamy. Clearly not one to fear superstition, photographer Steven Meisel’s cat-styling (put bluntly) and dramatic lighting brings out the vixen vibe of the collection. We can already tell that Lanvin’s fall designs will be stunners with oversized necklaces, über-chic tailored cocktail dresses and daring booties. We have to hand it to the fashion label for doing well with this ad series—it’s high fashion, but also discreetly humorous with those curious wide-eyed felines.
