Paul McCartney famously sang, “Will you still love me when I’m 64?” Well, he’s technically 69, but 51-year-old Nancy Shevell just answered “I do!” McCartney married his third wife this weekend in London following four years of courtship. “I feel married,”  McCartney told reporters after the ceremony. “I feel absolutely wonderful.” Aww, cute. After losing first wife Linda to cancer in 1998, McCartney had a tumultuous second marriage to Heather Mills, with whom he has a daughter, Beatrice (she served as flower girl!). Shevell and McCartney met in 2007 and the two became engaged in May. So, who is this woman feeling up on our favorite Beatle? The goods are after the jump … Keep reading »

Stefano Gabbana Takes A Swipe At Stella McCartney

“Yeah, she’s upcoming after 15 years doing nothing!! Hahahaha … Aaaaaaa …… I see you appreciate nonentities!! Bravo!”

– Stefano Gabbana, of fashion house Dolce and Gabbana, had a little Twitter convo with friend Fabio Viscovo, in which he pretends not to know who Stella McCartney is only to acknowledge her with these two biting statements. [Fashion Indie] Keep reading »

Australians: Mind Sending Us A Stella McCartney For Target Care Package?

Way back in the day when mass retailer and designer collaborations were merely a fledgling idea—well, 2005, specifically—Stella McCartney designed a line for H&M. Since then, we’ve been waiting for the moment of Stella’s return to the mass spotlight. Turns out the British designer is doing a collab (hooray!), but she’s doing it in Australia (woh-wohhh). At the end of October, Australian Target will release a 42-piece collection, and here are some of the looks the lucky Aussies will get: sharp blazers, embroidered dresses, classy satin tops, and shimmery sweater dresses. If you’re vacationing in Australia, hit it up! (And bring us some, too.) Check out some more styles after the jump! [Frockwriter via Racked] Keep reading »

Quotable: Stella McCartney Is Slightly Embarrassed By Her Job

“I used to get embarrassed about the fact I liked fashion. I still get a bit cringy. I’d sit at dinner parties and people would say to me, ‘So what do you do?’ and I’d be like, oh design! When I fill passport forms I put ‘design.’ I don’t say fashion. But don’t get me wrong, I love my job!”

Stella McCartney knows how those who live, breathe, and eat fashion can feel when talking about their profession to, say, a diplomat, or in my case, a journalism professor. [Fashionista] Keep reading »

Stella McCartney Horse Shirt Freaks Us Out

Please tell us that this Stella McCartney horse shirt makes you feel a little weird, too. I mean, something’s just off about it, right? We tried to give the thing the benefit of the doubt, but every time we were prepared to write it off to quirkiness, there it was, staring at us from another browser window and just making the whole interaction so awkward. [$200, Stella McCartney, Far Fetch] Keep reading »

Get Stella McCartney’s Fancy Panties At Gap Prices

Remember days of the week underwear? (We were the girls who could never get it right and were always wearing Tuesday’s panties on a Thursday. So rebellious.) Stella McCartney has famously brought back the cute idea with her beautiful lace knickers of the week that come in a charming chest of drawers package. Problem is, it’ll cost you $195 to keep your butt covered for seven days. The good news is that Ms. McCartney has done a cheaper version of the fun underthings for Gap. The $38 set features colorful cotton instead of silk but still retains the look and style of the originals. Full disclosure: You’ll find them in the Gap Kids section, which we’ve been known to pick from on occasion. Just look for the L or XL sizes! [Journelle.com, Gap] Keep reading »

Worse Than Jeggings: Jean-Printed Gym Leggings

Jeggings just got some competition in the “what’s fuglier?” contest. Behold Stella McCartney‘s “denim printed” leggings. They’re part of her line for Adidas, so we assume the idea is that you wear these to the gym? Really?

To get more specific, the description says that these are actually tights, but since they’re footless, we wonder if they’re closer to tights or leggings. This now challenges one of our firm fashion rules: Tights are not pants. But what if your tights are printed to look like pants? Still no. [Adidas.com] Keep reading »

Stella McCartney’s Birkenstiletto—Ghastly Or Great?

When we heard of Jimmy Choo’s collab with Uggs, we jokingly took a stab at what we thought “Chuggs,” high-heeled fuzzy booties, would look like. Behold Stella McCartney‘s latest footwear creation which, although it looks like the product of a kooky partnership with Birkenstock, is in fact her own doing. The pumps take after the hippie shoes by borrowing signature elements like the leather buckle, molded interior, and cork sole. We’re not sure what Stella was smoking when she designed these, and moreover, why she’d slap a $600 price tag on them. If you’re that into them, why not just stick some twigs in the heels of your earthy sandals? (It’d be more environmentally friendly anyhow.) [NY Daily News] Keep reading »
