My favorite thing about fashion week is the craaaazy things designers parade down the runways in an effort to stand out, like bondage hula skirts and models with giant, eye-less lizard heads. My second favorite thing is looking at the season’s fresh crop of breathtakingly opulent gowns, and the Spring/Summer 2013 collections didn’t disappoint. Here are 21 of the most gorgeous gowns that showed up on the runways this week, many of which quite literally made my jaw drop when I saw them. So. Freakin’. Beautiful. As New York Fashion Week slogs on, we’ve seen some commonalities emerge between designers. Besides all employing desperately skinny models, we’ve noticed other similarities between collections. Like white. It was everywhere on the runway this NYFW, in flowing dresses, in surprising suiting — and in inexplicable hat/dress combos (we’re looking at you, Prabal Gurung). Check out our gallery of the best white runway looks.
We had a bit of catching up to do after the weekend, so today we’re showing you Christian Siriano, Victoria Beckham, Catherine Malandrino, Ostwald Helgason, Diane von Furstenberg and my personal fave, Duro Olowu. So many shows, so little time! Check out all the collections after the jump! Keep reading »

We’ve got collections from Herchcovitch and Suno, along with Maison Martin Margiela, Boy by Band of Outsiders, Helmut Lang, Alexander Wang, and so, so many more. Check ‘em all out after the jump! This model at the Duckie Brown Spring 2013 show bravely made his way down the runway in a garment that very much resembles a fresh fabric explosion. Thank goodness he seems to have escaped unscathed.
New York Fashion Week is upon us (blergh). Which means more fashion, parties and skinny models with impossibly complex coffee orders in front of you in line at Starbucks. Truly, we love the fashion and the glamour of the shows, but the general hoopla around NYFW can be a bit mystifying/annoying. That said, we’re excited to look at what’s on the runways for Spring/Summer 2013 (what we’ll generally be seeing in stores next year). First up, feminine, but not overly precious offerings from Rachel Comey, Lauren Moffat, BCBG and more! Check them out after the jump! Keep reading »
