HUDSON: Denim You Can Tolerate In The Summer

Even if you’re a die-hard jeans girl 10 months out of the year, when summer arrives, heavy denim is probably the last thing you reach for. But HUDSON jeans’ spring/summer 2011 collection is denim you can actually tolerate in the heat. Inspired by the culture of Dogtown and Venice, CA in the ’70s, the collection is laid-back, but also has a European edge. The jeans are made of lightweight denim that has been softened and come in faded red, pink, yellow hues. But even if colored denim isn’t your thing, HUDSON jeans are also available in light and medium wash blue and white–in styles ranging from skinny to shorts to flare to cropped. HUDSON continues to play with the DIY elements, like repair stitches, frayed edges, exposed button flies, and distressed holes, I loved last year. But the two jean styles that grabbed my attention were a pair of red cropped jeans and pair of white “N.1 AXL” skinny jeans with leather lacing along the back of the calf, from the HUDSON by Georgia-May Jagger collaboration. See more pics after the jump. [HUDSON] Keep reading »

Style Stealer: Solange At The Elle Women In Music Concert

Solange‘s ensemble for the Elle Women in Music concert in Hollywood wasn’t met with the best reception. I’m sure her bralette top has something to do with that. However, the ’70s feel of the high-waist pants, long cardigan, and floppy hat is right in step with the sophisticated bohemian vibe this season. Solange’s look would be completely wearable with a more substantial yet sexy top. See how you can recreate the look after the jump. Keep reading »

Do A Man’s Exposed Ankles Excite You?

Now that the temperature has finally begun to warm up, more men seem to be cuffing their pants. This gives them the opportunity to show off their shoes and gives the overall look a more casual feel. But cuffed pants also expose the ankles, an area of a man’s leg we usually only see if he is wearing shorts. In eras past, the sight of a woman’s ankle gave men a stir. Are you having a similar experience now that cuffed pants for men are the norm? Are you for or against men cuffing their pants? Keep reading »

A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing

It’s really hard to figure out what to wear during the spring months, when the weather can turn from nice to nasty on a dime. That’s why we love Wolf & Harrison’s French Terry Cape, which allows you to brave the elements in a sweet and stylish way. The 100 percent organic cotton cape fills a weird weather niche, but we’re betting you’re going to want to wear it year round — wolf, sheep or whatever you are.

What Do You Think Of Ivanka Trump Footwear Collection?

Ivanka Trump is building an empire, just like her father Donald. For her latest venture, she teamed up with Marc Fisher for a collection of shoes that will take you from the office to happy hour to the park or the beach. Ivanka says the shoes are made of the best quality materials, but they don’t have the high, luxury price you’d expect from the Trumps; most of the shoes cost about $125 or $130. Marc Fisher is one of my favorite moderately-priced footwear designers, so it’s no surprise that I like many of Ivanka’s shoes. But what do you think of Ivanka Trump Footwear Collection? And The Prize Goes To … The Most Ridiculous (Imagined!) Fashion Hybrid Item

Earlier this week, we asked you to tell us the most ridiculous fashion hybrid item you could imagine, along the lines of jeggings, jorts, shooties, and my contribution to the fashion lexicon, bradigan. The most original and hilarious suggestion would win Gap’s Soft Trench, part of the brand’s spring collection. We’ve picked a winner — read her winning comment after the jump — but the rest of you can still grab a Soft Trench of your own at a steep discount during tomorrow’s Gap Flashion sale. The Soft Trench — normally priced at $89.95 — will be available in stores for a mere $50 tomorrow only. I’m not passing that up! Keep reading »

Step Into Spring

February fashion mags are already hitting newsstands and even though it’s still the dead of winter, editors are already crowing about the hot trends for Spring 2011. Among them: wedge heels with rope embellishments. Ugh, but how to wear the trend now? These teal round-toe pumps with their subtle jute platform sole are the perfect nod to upcoming warm temperatures, while still being appropriate for the ongoing frigid winter. These babies — a total steal at less than $40 — would look great with tights now and bare legs come May.

Video Of Tom Ford’s Spring 2011 Fashion Show

The presentation of Tom Ford’s spring/summer 2011 collection was the most buzzed about fashion show during New York Fashion Week. It was a star-studded affair, but was also extremely exclusive. Only one photographer was allowed to snap photos during the show, so only the fashion elite has seen the glamorous fashions until now. See Beyonce, Chanel Iman, Carolyn Murphy, Lauren Hutton, and several other A-listers strut their stuff in a video of the show. Keep reading »

First Look: I Heart Ronson Spring 2011

We’ve been huge fans of I Heart Ronson, designer Charlotte Ronson‘s junior’s line for JCPenney, since 2008 because it features really cute clothes at affordable prices. The spring collection, slated to arrive in JCPenney stores in February, doesn’t disappoint. There are several sweet dresses and shorts that will fit right in with the basics in your wardrobe already. Look past the over-styling in the I Heart Ronson spring lookbook and you’ll see what I mean. I’m especially in love with the white shirtdress after the jump because it will be perfect on a late spring day. Plus, most of the I Heart Ronson fashions eventually go on sale, making many of the garments less than $30. Check out two more looks after the jump. [The Fabulous Report] Keep reading »
