Fashion Math: Sweatshirts + Midi Skirts

Leave it to Chloe Grace Moretz to combine two of my favorite current trends – a fitted sweatshirt and a full midi skirt – into one fabulous outfit. Mixing a sporty top with a girly bottom keeps the look from being too casual or too precious, and has that much ballyhooed “effortless” vibe. Naturally, I went buck wild pairing both graphic and simple sweatshirts with a variety of retro-shaped midi skirts in this first edition of Fashion Math! Click on for some seriously cool combos…

Must Haves: 25 Low Block-Heel Sandals

Let me introduce you to my new best friend, the low block-heel sandal. She loves to take long walks in the park, window shop for hours at a time, flirt at happy hour, and go dancing at da club, but is still all business at the office. Although she only stands about two-inches tall, she always compliments my clothes, is reliable in a jam, and supports my every adventure! This summer, we will spend every waking hour together. Ask A Stylist: 5 Spring Essentials According To Stylist Johnny Wujek
Tell Us What To Wear, Johnny!

Spring has sprung and with it, a new excuse to shop. As if you needed one. But what should you get? What does your closet desire, nay, need? We asked Katy Perry’s stylist Johnny Wujek, who you no doubt recognize from many “America’s Next Top Model” photoshoots, to give us his five fashion essentials for spring. If anyone gives you any lip about your next credit card statement, just blame it on his handsome face.

Catch the premiere of the anticipated new web series, ”Stylist on Set,” Wednesday, May 7 on Johnny Wujek’s official website. Get Your “SOS” fix on Twitter and Instagram.

Shop The Trend: Fruit Prints!

I am so pumped that spring weather has arrived! Shorter hemlines, lighter fabrics and happier prints, GET AT ME. Speaking of the latter, one of my favorite trends for spring is fruit. Lemons, limes, strawberries, watermelon and pineapple abound in many of the textiles being used for everything from dresses and skirts to crop tops and rompers. Seriously, looking at that striped pineapple dress in the middle is making me both hungry and sartorially inspired. Click through for more fruity fashion…

If you haven’t already, ease into spring with a pair of relaxed fit pants in a cool, abstract print. I know what you’re thinking. But Sophie, they look like pajama bottoms. ’Tis true, but think of the pajama-like comfort! What’s not to love? Try pairing these printed pants with a short structured jacket and heels. If you aren’t ready to shell out the big bucks on this trend, try the Olive & Oak version on sale at T.J. Maxx for $19.99.

Hi/Lo: Sexy Silver Shorts

Hi/Lo Silver Shorts

When I found these elegant Kate Spade shorts, I couldn’t help but swoon. Imagine sipping champagne on a yacht in these bottoms, as your tan legs stretch out lazily… OK, so that isn’t quite my life, but a girl can dream. However, I will opt to wear the more affordable MinkPink version the next time I do a beer tasting on Manhattan By Sail’s clipper.

Anne Hathaway was spotted in London heading to the BBC Studios wearing this playful professional look. The sheer light blue blouse is a stark contrast to her black flounce mini, black pumps, and metallic blue nail polish. The key to pulling off this outfit is in the minimalist makeup and slicked back hair.  Learn how to steal her style after the jump…

I love a fun statement piece that can be worn year round.  This Alexander McQueen romper could be paired with tights and a jacket or rocked solo, and is the kind of onesie I could picture being worn by preppy Taylor Swift or daring Lily Allen. Unfortunately, Alexander McQueen’s romper is more than my monthly NYC rent! Try Motel’s version available at British retailer Bank Fashion. Much easier on the wallet and just as fly!

Shop The Trend: Varsity Blues

Even if I had been, like, into sports in high school, I would have been screwed, seeing as I attended a performing arts school, where I could fulfill my physical education requirement with an assortment of dance classes. No, the whole high school jock culture thing is really foreign to me, and therefore kind of intriguing. I wouldn’t go back to high school for a million dollars, but I would spend a little dough to rock varsity style, which is super popular for spring. The key is not to wear more than one or two sporty pieces at a time, unless you want to look like an extra from a teen high school drama on ABC Family. Here are 12 pieces I’m currently jonesing for…
