Handbag Or Weapon?

This piece by Dafne Balatsos looks more like a Super Mario Brothers weapon or medieval torture device than a handbag. For real—you could do some serious damage with this guy. And we’d bet TSA wouldn’t let you near a plane with it. [Trend Hunter] Keep reading »

Scare Off Unwanted Suitors With This Ring

Rihanna is a fashion trendsetter who is sometimes so far ahead of the curve it’s hard for us to keep up. But, like with Lady Gaga, the best way to follow Rihanna’s lead is to do so subtly. For the past several months, she’s been all about spiked clothes and accessories, from killer rings and studded sunglasses to dangerous dresses. If you’d like to keep people away from you with your clothes the way Rihanna does, the easiest way is to slide on a ring from nOir Jewelry. Rihanna herself stacked three of them on one finger for a super studded look, and fellow fashion risk takers Katy Perry, Amber Rose, Fergie, and Lady Gaga are also fans of the line. Just make sure not to jokingly punch anyone while wearing this sucker — the spikes are more than 2 inches long. [$50, nOir Jewelry] Keep reading »

Rihanna Favors Dangerous Clothes

Yesterday, we posted an Agent Provocateur corset with 2-inch spikes, saying we couldn’t imagine who would wear such a thing in public. We should have guessed one of pop’s ladies of the hour, because arrived and departed from last night’s Rated R CD release party in New York City wearing outfits with major weaponry attached. Rihanna must not want anyone to touch her, because those spikes are major physical contact deterrents. Check out the second outfit after the jump. Keep reading »

Agent Provocateur’s Heloise Corset Might Drive Men Away (Or Impale Them)

Lingerie doesn’t take much material to make, yet for some reason it costs a pretty penny. Take Agent Provocateur’s Heloise Corset. This halter neck corset is made from ribbed duchess satin and lined in black leather, with hand-embellished biker studs and two-inch metal spikes. “Wear it with jeans for an evening out, or for a more daring look wear it with our Nikita brief,” the company suggests. Wear this in public? You might brush up against someone at a bar and accidentally impale her. If the spikes don’t scare you off, the price might: $4,900. Thanks, but we’ll stick to less dangerous (and less expensive) lace lingerie options. [via Luxist] Keep reading »
