Snoop Dogg Takes A Cue From The Old Spice Guy

Isaiah Mustafa probably never expected to have an impact on Snoop Dogg‘s life and career, but the rapper has the Old Spice guy to thank for the viral campaign he’s using to promote his new album. Snoop has filmed a bunch of different, funny videos with messages directed at famous folk like Al Gore, Martha Stewart, and Britney Spears, followed by a screenshot about where to buy #1 Priority, his latest record. In the video above, Snoop talks to Al Gore about saving the “atmosphizzle” — “what it do, nephew” indeed. After the jump, the vids he made especially for Britney, Martha, and Weird Al. Snoop Dogg’s Tribute To “True Blood,” “Oh Sookie”

I was sure that I was the biggest “True Blood” fan ever, but then I saw Snoop Dogg’s tribute video/song to Sookie Stackhouse and I was like, “Bitch, you’ve been dethroned.” “Oh Sookie” proves the rapper has an impressive knowledge of the show, with lyrics like: “Bring a friend/Matter fact, bring your best friend/Tara/I’ve got some real eggs for her to eat”; “We’ll do it in the daytime/Bill won’t know a thing”; “Won’t trick you like Eric/And make you drink blood”; and “Sam ain’t a man/He done turned into a bitch.” Snoop, you have outdone yourself. Adidas Originals Short Is Where All The Cool Kids Are

They say that advertising is in the crapper these days, but Adidas sure seems to be onto something, at least in the realm of video campaigns, with its Adidas Originals shorts. In “The Street Where Originality Lives,” a cool urban street atmosphere hosts city skater kids who go to just about the most awesome-looking rooftop party you’ve never been to. Oh, and the cameo celeb appearances don’t hurt, either—Agyness Deyn, Ciara, David Beckham, Jeremy Scott, Snoop Dogg, and Whitney Port to name a few. [YouTube via HighSnobiety] Keep reading »

Album Drop: This Week’s New Releases From Snoop Dogg To 30 Seconds To Mars

It’s new release Tuesday, so it’s time to take the latest tunes for a spin. And the freshest track is coming from my fave awesome art rock band: The Liars. They’re releasing Sisterworld in March, but you hip, hot Frisky gals can get an mp3 taste of it by heading here! I’ve been basically playing their super awesome song “Scissors” on loop. Now, as for the albums out this week, Snoop Dogg is still the shizneezy. Rapper Gucci Mane fights the law, and wins. Timbaland’s back, trying to make shock waves. 30 Seconds To Mars is flying high on the wings of operatic emo. And We The Kings try to rule tweendom. Are we missing someone? You bet! We’re ignoring Chris Brown’s new record. In light of what he did to our girl Rihanna, we’re not going to support him here. Whew, let’s brush it off ’cause there are some seriously hot jams going on this week. So, let’s get into the groove, after the jump! Keep reading »

Quick Pic: Bullets Don’t Belong At The Airport

Snoop Dogg (I love ya, Snoop) caused a security scare when he wore a bullet around his neck at a Beirut airport. The diamond-studded bullet necklace was made by Bullets 4 Peace, a socially-conscious jewelry line that promotes world peace. He was allowed to board his flight after the necklace was confiscated, according to a source. [10/2/09] Keep reading »

10 Songs About Lesbians That We Actually Like

Guys who go on and on and on about lady-love are so annoying. They’re lesbians, dude—they’re NOT going to be into you. The latest annoyance? “Girl Gotta Girlfriend” by the rappers Mams Taylor, Snoop Dogg and Bobby Valentino (listen above!), about a man with a girlfriend who tries to bring home a second woman for the night. Aren’t these lyrics touching?

“My girlfriend kissing on her girlfriend / They getting real naughty/ My money is cool, but I’d rather have you and my girlfriend running around my crib naked.”

The lesbian blog AfterEllen.com flipped ‘em a big gay bird, saying:

“Lesbians: We are just here for your pleasure. Do you have money and some champagne and a hotel room? Just tell us where and when!”

Yawn, enough with songs by heterosexual dudes about how great it would be to bang two women at once. There’s plenty of songs out there about real girl/girl relationships by Ani DiFranco, t.A.T.u, Jill Sobule, Le Tigre and a bunch of others. And a few fun ones by Lady GaGa and Katy Perry. Go cuddle up with your gal pal and take a listen. Keep reading »
