kate mckinnon from SNL

Squee! Rumor has it “Saturday Night Live” has added a female cast member named Kate McKinnon and she is someone we already know and love around these parts! Kate starred in “Vag Magazine,” the kickass webseries that spoofed women who work at a feminist magazine, as the flaky girl Bethanny. Comedic Kate hails from the Upright Citizens Brigade, appeared on LOGO’s “The Big Gay Sketch Show” and has a movie coming out called “Hannah Has A Ho-Phase,” which sounds right up our alley. Deadline Hollywood reports that “SNL” head honcho Lorne Micheals has been auditioning several ladies for the show and Kate will debut next Saturday in the episode hosted by Sofia Vergara. The Mary Sue tells us that Kate is the first out lesbian to ever appear on the show and she’ll be the first openly gay cast member in 27 years. Mazel tov, Kate McKinnon — we’re a fan already. [Deadline HollywoodIMDBVag MagazineThe Mary Sue]

Well lookie here, it appears that Lindsay Lohan’s promos for her episode of “Saturday Night Live” aren’t looking so bad after all. This weekend will be her fourth time hosting, so she knows what she’s getting into, and supposedly has told producers that “nothing is off limits.” Hopefully they’ll be mildly kind (while still packing a punch). We’re rooting for you Lindz — though we’re really not sure why! [Pop Culture Brain]

Anyone else convinced Anna Faris on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend is going to be baller? I, for one, am psyched to see her loopy-loo goofy girl humor go head to head with Kristen Wiig. Maybe if we’re lucky she’ll bring that hottie husband of hers, Chris Pratt, along for the ride, too. [NBC]

Miss Bossypants Herself To Host “SNL” This Weekend

Woo-hoo! Tina Fey is returning to her old stomping grounds, “Saturday Night Live,” this weekend. She will be hosting while Ellie Goulding, aka the chickadee who played the royal wedding, does the musical guest thing. “SNL” promos are never quite as funny as I want them to be, but still—just had to share these because we love Tina that much. Bristol Palin Was This Close To Being Tina Fey’s Baby Sitter

“I can’t imagine Bristol would have been too psyched to [babysit] anyway; it was her 18th birthday, she was in New York City, and I had made a vicious joke about her a week earlier. But I appreciated the mom-ness of Mrs. Palin’s offer … I thanked her, saying Alice was too little to stay for the show.”

Tina Fey shares in her new book, Bossypants, that when Sarah Palin appeared on “SNL” in 2008, she offered up daughter Bristol Palin to babysit for Tina’s daughter, Alice, on set. This was, err, while Tina was doing her famous impersonation of her. The fact that she would still offer that is almost enough to make me like Sarah Palin. For a minute, anyway. Jesse Eisenberg And Mark Zuckerberg Come Face-To-Face On “SNL”

Ahh, “Saturday Night Live.” Thank you for making our interwebian dreams come true. On Saturday’s episode, Jesse Eisenberg of “The Social Network” hosted and in his opening monologue, shared with us his knowledge of the menstrual cycle. Soon after, he was joined on stage by (Andy Samberg and) Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook creator who Jesse portrayed not-so-flatteringly in the movie. It was every bit as awkward as we all imagined. Oh, but I did have a few breakthroughs while watching: First, I realized that these two dudes share the second half of their last names. And also that Zuckerberg sounds a lot like a not-so-happy Kermit the Frog. Keep reading »
