10 Perfect Moisturizers For Parched Winter Skin

As of a few days ago, my face has become very, very dry. Until then, I was the poster girl for oily/combination blemish-prone skin, and I’ve always taken great care to stay as freakishly matte as possible. It seems like the hellish combination of cold, blustery weather and my take-no-prisoners approach to anti-acne skincare has turned my generally-self-regulating skin into a flaky red mess.

I’m on a quest to find the right products to soothe and restore radiance to my pale, sad face without throwing down $200+ for a fancy night creme. Has a sudden change in skin condition like this ever happened to you?

Splurge Or Steal: Waxed Denim

I’ve never met a pair of leather leggings I didn’t like, but they are, shall we say, an investment piece. A soft, flattering, fitted pair can set you back like you wouldn’t believe, but they look so goooood. The newest trend that I can get behind is these coated skinny jeans, as seen on the stars. Rihanna, Blake Lively, Miranda Kerr, and Kim Kardashian have all been spotted rocking the style, and they’re shockingly sexy on a bevy of body types. Unlike leather, waxed denim is vegan-friendly and won’t leave you $500 in the hole, terrified to put on a single pound. Here’s five pairs to choose from, ranging from a reasonable splurge to a ridiculous steal.

Style Resolution: Dress More Adventurously!

Color With Color!
Five reasons to embrace the bright side of style. Read More »

You can’t tell just by looking at me, but I live and breathe fashion. I follow all the right blogs, know all the right names, and stalk Style.com like a savant. I whittle away days on the internet amassing perfunctory “wishlists” of items I will never be able to afford, and I have forgone meals in favor of spending my money on thick issues of Vogue in languages I can’t read. I’m in deep.

Still, when you have a kind of go-to look, a uniform even, it grows into a habit that’s hard to break. I’m so comfortable in shades of black and grey, thrown together into a messy lazy-girl formula ruled by skinny jeans, oversized sweaters, and low boots, that I haven’t dared to wear anything else in, well, years. Am I just lackadaisical when it comes to dressing … or am I scared? Keep reading »

Shopping Guide: 12 Perfectly Patterned Leggings

Patterned leggings are a simple way to seem dressed up without putting a whole heck of a lot more effort into your outfit. If you’re going to go with a crazy patterned bottom, keep the rest of your outfit plain and basic. Or else you’ll look like a clown. Which, you know, might be your thing.

Shopping Guide: 13 Three-Quarter Sleeve Pullover Sweaters

You know what part of my body I like that doesn’t get enough attention? No, not my vagina, although that’s true too. I’m actually talking about my wrists. I like my wrists and I especially like comfy cozy sweaters that keep me warm but leave them exposed. Here are 13 such sweaters. I shall take one of each, Sweater Genie!

Shopping Guide: In The Navy

As you might have noticed, my navy blue cardigan from Anthropologie is pretty much a staple for me. Navy is a great alternative to boring black, but is neutral enough that you can pair it with virtually anything. As such, I resolve to add more navy to my wardrobe in 2012 — and I think you should, too. Mix a few of these skirts, shirts and dresses — and a cardigan, of course, too — into your basics collection.
