5 Current Trends Charles Darwin Would Probably Be Into

I think about a lot of things when I get dressed in the morning. I consider the pros and cons of shapewear. I come up with brilliant comebacks that would have been useful 3 years ago. I realize that I kind of miss the Macarena dance. And the other day I found myself thinking, I wonder if Charles Darwin would like my outfit? Instead of psychoanalyzing my need for approval from the father of evolution, I thought I’d make a list of modern day trends that Mr. Darwin might be into. So here we go…

Etsy Spotlight: Vintage Tourist T-Shirts

Who doesn’t love a T-shirt? Well, I guess anyone who’s ever uttered the phrase “And all I got was this lousy T-shirt!” doesn’t really appreciate them, but whatever. T-shirts are awesome. Vintage T-shirts? Even better. And vintage T-shirts from random destinations? Best. Here’s a roundup of tourist-y Ts from glamorous locales such as Hawaii and Omaha, starting at just 10 bucks!

Shopping Guide: Obsessed With Vests

When I was a child, there were three things that defined my style — big earrings, hats, and vests. Big earrings and hats are style preferences that not everyone shares, but I’m going to argue that everyone needs a vest or two. For one, they’re excellent for layering this time of year, but won’t be too hot when the temperature warms during the day. And vests show that you’re more adventurous than simply choosing a jacket or cardigan as a cover-up. Here are nine of our favorite knit, tunic-length, drape-y, and menswear-inspired vests.

Home Style Inspiration: Marie Antoinette

I’m reading a book about Marie Antoinette and I can’t decide if I want to be her best friend or if she was basically an 18th century version of The Real Housewives of Versailles. Maybe both? One thing’s clear though: this queen had an amazing sense of style. Her palaces were filled with sumptuous fabrics, rich colors, and intricately detailed decorations. Here are some modern day pieces to bring a little Antoinette opulence into your home… Keep reading »

Shopping Guide: Sequins, Sequins, Sequins!

Style 911: T-Shirts
An array of cute, affordable, and ethical Ts. Read More »

If you would have told us a few years ago that we’d want to wear sequins all over one day, we would have laughed hysterically. But now we’re adding sequins to the list of things we said we would never wear yet can’t get enough of. Sequins are a dazzling way to take part in the metallic trend and are totally appropriate for day when the other clothes you’re wearing are simple. For instance, if you’ve decided on a pair of sequin pants, then add a simple, white button-down blouse to contrast the glitz. Ditto goes for a sequin skirt or shorts. Sequin jackets look amazing with distressed jeans for day, but wearing black crop pants at night is a playful take on a tuxedo. Sequin dresses are best left for nights out and sequin T-shirts will become a wardrobe staple.
