I’ve always felt like I should love Loft, since its whole angle is trendy basics for 20somethings, but whenever I go in there I find the stock a little too, well, basic. When I perused the site today though, I was pleasantly surprised. I found 10 awesome pieces in fun colors and classic cuts, and you can’t argue with the price point: all of them are 50 bucks or less. Click through to check ‘em out…
Sometimes all an outfit needs to ramp up the sex appeal is a pair of great sheer tights or hosiery. Highlight your incredible gams with one of the lacy, sexy or sheer pairs we’ve found.
Am I the only person out there who thinks that semi-opaque black tights are worlds sexier than bare legs? I know, it’s weird, but the sheer fact of hosiery is sexy in and of itself. Black tights are slimming, warm for the cooler seasons, and can pull any look together in a matter of seconds. Admittedly, they can get a little boring. I should know — I sport black tights almost daily, with no signs of ever stopping. It seems that celebs like Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, and Selena Gomez have found the perfect solution to black tights doldrums, and it’s certainly a step up in sexy. Suspender tights are the newest gotta-have-’em garment, opaque to the thigh then sheer with a garter-like detail. I’m loving the look, but I don’t know if my thick thighs are up to the task … but hey, Rihanna represents thick-thighed girls everywhere, and she looks damn good in them. What’s your opinion? If you must have a pair, click on — I’ll point you in the right direction. As for me, I’m not buying them online right now, except for the part where I totally am, whatever.
Disclaimer: I have very little interest in Valentine’s Day. I’ll admit, the idea of it is nice, and the Valentine’s cup from Starbucks is maybe the cutest thing ever, but my appreciation for the “holiday” ends right about there. I never even really think about it, and when the day rolls around, I’m none the wiser. However, this year I’m beginning to rethink my position, only because there are so many lovely love-y things that I want, and wouldn’t Valentine’s Day be the perfect time for me to receive them? Wink wink, nudge nudge, and all that; boyfriend, ye be warned! I’ve put together this handy guide of essentially foolproof gifts that I think (almost) any woman would love to receive. Whoever you’re buying for, you know your girl better than I do, so exercise judgment when deciding on presents (for example, if she has arsonphobia, candles may not be the best choice). Read on!
One of the people behind the scenes at The Frisky is our General Manager Mina Lux. Mina is insane in a really wonderful way, best illustrated by the fact that, no matter what the weather is outside — I’m talking rain, hail, blizzard, flood, ice storm, whatever – she is in sky-high, platform heels. So when she came to me and said she wanted to curate a slideshow of heels, I decided to let her go wild, provided she stayed below a certain price point. Here are 35 pairs that get her approval.
Valentine’s Day is almost upon us, and whether you’ve got a boo or not, it’s clear you’re about to be inundated with tons of hearts and flowers. So why not beat the holiday at its own game and don a heart-covered sweater or bangle? V-Day, you’re about to get served.
What’s a druzy, you ask? Strange name, yes, but it makes it easier to put a label on what I previously referred to as “the inside-geode sparkles.” Druzies, or drusies, are the tiny quartz crystals that form within or on the surface of other previously deposited stones and minerals. They’re beautifully eye-catching and they capture and reflect light in a way that makes me want to buy them all and adorn my body with them forever. I mean, what? Druzies are so pretty, and while designer takes on them can be pricy for sure, there’s plenty of stunning druzy jewelry out there that looks like magic and won’t make your wallet cry. What could be better than that?
A blazer is one of the few pieces of clothing that can transition effortlessly from workday to date night to casual weekend. It’s also a super flattering choice for curvy women: the nipped-in waist highlights an hourglass silhouette. Here are 7 stylish plus size blazers that will look amazing with pencil skirts, jeans, or a tunic and leggings…
Yesterday, I wandered into the Gap and was instantly blinded by the array of brilliantly bright items they had for sale. Seriously, does anything snap you out of the haze a cloudy and cold day can bring as well as a shock of neon? This is what I told myself as I bought the first two items in this slideshow. Cheer up your own wardrobe this winter with a dose of neon (or bright sorbet or whatever you want to call these eye-catching shades), why don’t you?
