Must Haves: 10 Beach Totes & Towel Combos

Summer is in full swing and I don’t know about you, but I pack for the beach like I pack for a mini vacation. A beach tote is essential, and must be large enough to carry my towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, beverage, brush, and a change of clothes, but adorable enough to carry around town. In addition, a big, can’t-miss-it beach towel is key. After a long walk on the beach, your unique towel is the only identifier of your spot — plus, don’t you want one you can wear like a sarong?

One Pair Of Short Overalls, Four Ways To Wear Them This Summer

Short overalls! Overall shorts! Shorteralls! Whatever you call them, these babies — last seen during the ’90s — are hot shit for summer. Here are four ways to wear them…

City dwellers, time to test that green thumb... Read More »

Succulents are low maintenance plants that provide owners the illusion of a green thumb. Unlike more temperamental plants, succulents simply need a few hours of sunlight and a bit of water. Because these plants have shallow roots, the planter possibilities are endless! The hardest part is picking which pot to plant yours in…

Hi/Lo: Flat Sandals For Summer

I’m sad. After years of depending on J. Crew’s Capri flip-flop as my go-to summer sandal, the company went and broke what was already perfect by pushing out a new version with slightly thicker straps and this weird supportive thingy on the heel. The difference between the old and new versions is marginal but noticeable and just decidedly not the same. As a creature of habit, this is upsetting. Don’t fuck with my summer shoe game, J. Crew! I guess this means I’m in the market for a new summer sandal, but where to start? I know! With absurdly expensive designer pairs and their affordable alternatives!

Must Haves: 10 Colorful Canvas Sneakers

I love summer sandals, but some warm-weather adventures are better taken with sneakers on. Canvas sneakers are a lightweight alternative and pair well with skimmer pants, shorts, skirts and dresses. Here are 10 pairs to kick it in!

One Chambray Jumpsuit, Three Ways

I recently bought a slouchy chambray jumpsuit and I have been living in it ever since. Its lightweight fabric makes it perfect for summer and I’m convinced it’s not just for lazy days — it can be dressed up for a hot date and styled to be appropriate for work. To show just how versatile this piece can be — and why you should add one to your wardrobe — here are three ways to a chambray jumpsuit.

Compassionate Fashion: 10 Eco-Friendly Summer Shoes From Timberland

I’ve found that it’s surprisingly easy to find clothing and accessories that are up to ethical and sustainable standards, but when it comes to shoes, the pickings are few and far between. There’s certainly stylish, handcrafted, responsibly sourced footwear out there — if you’re willing to spend a minimum of $300 on a pair of shoes — but if your budget is closer to $100 or less, your options dwindle to recycled yoga mat flip flops or … well, that’s pretty much it. Timberland is working to change that with their Earthkeepers line. Made using recycled materials and sourced from factories and tanneries that have shown a commitment to the environment, Earthkeepers are stylish, high quality shoes that you can feel good about buying and wear for years to come. I’m particularly enamored by their summer collection of sandals and espadrilles. Click through to check out 10 of my faves!

Must Haves: 7 Sassy One-Piece Swimsuits For Under $40

I do a lot of bathing suit browsing, but I have yet to replace my worn out swimsuits. Ever notice how some pool decks and bottoms have a grainy finish leaving your swimsuit bottom with a patch of snags? My favorite one piece is suffering from scuffled butt. If you too are in the market for a one-piece, try one of these suits for under $40!

Fashion Math: Pink + Orange

Pink alone is alright, but pink with orange? Now that makes me think of summer! I know what you’re thinking. Uh, don’t orange and pink clash? Yes! But in a good way! How else could a scoop of rainbow sherbet ice cream look so insanely delicious? (Especially right now — I’m going to Baskin-Robbins at lunch.) In this week’s fashion math, I’ll show you nine orange and pink outfits combos that are perfect for summer. Just keep your accessories basic and neutral — not counting the ice cream cone in your hand, of course.
