On March 15 of this year, I wrote you a letter in reference to your commercial featuring Corn Dog Girl, wherein I raised many questions and concerns. Those questions still remain unanswered. But I am still hopeful for your response.
Onto the real reason I’m writing. In paragraph two of my March 15 query, I mentioned, in passing, my thoughts about your commercials featuring Shannen Doherty:
“I kind of got the one with Shannen Doherty. But not really. Is Shannen done being an actress? Or is she going to college to do research for a part? And why does her face look so strange? It doesn’t really look like she’s had work done. But there is something weird going on with her mouth, right?”

Education Connection commercials are diabolical. They run during shows like “Degrassi” and “Teen Mom” and generally contain cute young things signing far-too-catchy songs about how they used EducationConnection.com to find an online degree program. Their jingles implant themselves deep in your brain and you find yourself humming them in the shower, even if you graduated from college 10 years ago and tend to not trust websites that advertise on TV as being “free.” Now Education Connection has shifted tactics in controlling my brain. They have hired one of my faves, Shannen Doherty, to shill for them. Very crafty, Education Connection, very crafty.
After the jump, the commercial that is currently running through my head, in case you’ve ever had the
pleasure bad luck to run across it. Keep reading »
Shannen Doherty doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to marriage. After saying “I do” to Ashley Hamilton, their marriage lasted a meager five months. Her marriage to Rick Salomon didn’t last much longer—nine months—and busted when his sex tape with Paris Hilton hit the internet. But Shannen is still hopeful about the idea of getting hitched. Last year, she said, “I believe in marriage as a whole because my parents were married for 43 years, so I have the best example in the world of what marriage can be. … You just have to be 100 percent sure. You have to go in with your eyes wide open.” So I am wishing her far better luck with her current fiance, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, who she plans to marry in the fall.
But I’m a little worried. Why? Because Shannen will be televising her nuptials. And we know how that usually turns out. Keep reading »
“I would consider getting married again because I want kids. … I believe in marriage as a whole because my parents were married for 43 years, so I have the best example in the world of what marriage can be. … You just have to be 100 percent sure. You have to go in with your eyes wide open and realize that it’s probably going to take a lot of work and maybe some couples’ therapy perhaps. … Marriage to me is such a gigantic commitment that it’s not something I’d ever go into lightly anymore. I’ve learned my lesson.”
—Shannen Doherty says she isn’t burned out on the idea of marriage after getting hitched twice. One of her marriages lasted five months while the other, to Rick Salomon, was annulled when his sex tape with Paris Hilton came out [People]

We have a love/hate relationship with Mean Girls. In reality, we know from firsthand experience that Mean Girls can ruin a teen’s life. But when it comes to TV and film, we find Mean Girls totally entertaining and have been known to root for them. Usually, the Mean Girl in a show or movie is the most developed character. Being saccharin sweet like Serena van der Woodsen in the first season of “Gossip Girl” or Lauren Conrad throughout the run of “The Hills” is easy. But it takes work to be conniving, cunning, and misunderstood all at once. We decided to pay homage to entertainment’s best Mean Girls after the jump. Tell us in the comments which one you identify with the most! Keep reading »
In her 90210 rise to stardom, Shannen Doherty had it all — fame, fortune, and the most glamorous bitch face on television. Over a decade later, we’re genuinely surprised Shannen isn’t still in the public eye or happily hitched to some billionaire with a pompadour.
