Steven Seagal Accused Of Forcing Himself On Assistant, Trafficking Women For Sex

Steven Seagal, formerly our favorite lawman, is in trouble with the law. He’s being sued for $1 million by Kayden Nguyen, who served as his personal assistant for a few days earlier this year. She says that the Buddhist martial arts master seriously crossed the line—not only sexually harassing her, but also trafficking two women for sex. Seagal’s lawyer has naturally denied the charges. “The lawsuit filed by Kayden Nguyen against Steven Seagal is a ridiculous and absurd claim by a disgruntled ex-employee who was fired,” he said. “The claims in her lawsuit are a complete fabrication without a scintilla of truth.” But you gotta check out some of the charges, after the jump. More Men Are Making Sexual Harassment Claims, Says The Gov

It’s not always us ladies who have to deal with Bill or Betsy’s TMI convos at the water cooler: Men filed 16.4 percent of all sexual harassment claims in 2009, up from 15.4 percent of all claims in 2006, according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Employment lawyers told The Wall Street Journal that they are increasingly seeing “locker room” behavior, like raunchy talk or sexual innuendo, in sexual harassment claims from men. But experts say some men are reluctant to report it because they don’t want to look like they’re weak, whiny or, strangely, gay, for reporting the abuse of power. Of course, women still file the overwhelming majority of sexual harassment claims at work. But the fact that guys deal with this crap at work, too, proves that sexual harassment is not a case of a woman “encouraging” or “asking for it.” [Wall Street Journal] Keep reading »

Study Says Catcalling Makes All Men Look Bad, Not Just The Guy Who Yelled “Great Boobs!”

Men who catcall a woman on the street cause other women bystanders to think negatively of all men in general, according to a small study at the University of Connecticut. Researchers Stephenie Chaudoir and Diane Quinn asked 114 female undergraduate students to watch one of two videos: one in which a man approaches a woman and says, “Hey Kelly, your boobs look great in that shirt!” and another in which a man approaches and says, “Hey Kelly, what’s up?” Women who watched the “boobs” video were more likely to say they identified as women, felt angry towards men, and wanted to “move away” from guys. More Models Speak Up About Photog’s Pervy Ways

This week, the interwebs exploded with the news of fashion photog Terry Richardson‘s lewd and inappropriate on-set behavior with his models. Unsurprisingly, several other sources have stepped forward now to add their own accounts, and the allegations are none too friendly. The dirty details, after the jump.

Terry Richardson Hearts Tampons!

Raunchy photographer Terry Richardson doesn’t hide from his sexuality—it’s blatantly there all over his unclothed models, genital Photoshopped madness, and general debauchery that’s conveyed through his photos and blog. Up until now, no one’s questioned his methods, and everyone’s generally thought he’s a cool—if not slightly bizarre/edgy—guy. Now, two models have gone public with some pervy stories about the fashion photog that are more than disturbing. Jamie Peck writes in a tell-all post for TheGloss.com, “I modeled for Terry Richardson when I was 19. And guess what? I felt bad about it. Of all the fine folks I’ve frolicked au naturel for, he’s the only one who’s left me feeling like I needed to take two showers.” After the jump, the traumatizing highlights of her story …

ESPN’s Tony Kornheiser Suspended For Slobbering Over Hannah Storm’s “Very, Very Tight Shirt”

Dear Tony Kornheiser, host of “Pardon the Interruption” on ESPN,

You are not Tiger Woods. You are somebody named Tony Kornheiser who I have never heard of before today, i.e., you are not so famous that you should be thinking normal people’s rules no longer apply to you. Did you reeeally think not a single person would care when, on your radio show, you said of ESPN colleague Hannah Storm, co-host of Daytime “SportsCenter”:

“Hannah Storm [was] in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today. She’s got on red go-go boots and a Catholic school plaid skirt … way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now … She’s got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body … I know she’s very good, and I’m not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won’t … but Hannah Storm … come on now! Stop! What are you doing?”

Uh, no, you should stop. What are you doing? Keep reading »

Boys Exposed To Porn Are More Likely To Sexually Harass Girls

Porn: whether you love it, hate it, or feel indifferent, you can’t deny it influences people just like any other form of media. Generally, “Think of the children!” hand-wringing is something I ignore because I think it can get really overblown. But a recent report on how exposure to porn affects young boys is a brash wake-up call that not worrying about their exposure is to their, and our, detriment. Keep reading »

1 In 3 Women Has Been Sexually Harassed At Work

I was sitting in a closed-door meeting at one of my former places of employment. Out of the five people in the conference room, I was the only woman. I remember because I felt invisible—the only reason I was invited was to take notes. I sat there silently as the guys began to make jokes about landing a new account by “performing oral sex on the hot, 60-year-old woman” who managed the account. I won’t share the details but believe me, they were graphic, gross, and offensive. When I got up and walked out of the conference room, I hardly think they noticed. They were laughing hysterically and slapping each other high-fives. Keep reading »

Today’s Lady News: Method’s Sexual Harassment Soap Suds Commercial Gets Pulled

  • Remember that skeevy soap commercial for Method where a woman gets cat-called in the shower by a bunch of bubbles? Well, Method allegedly pulled it offline after viewers complained, although it’s obviously still here. Anyway, this angered some advertising blogger who insists sexual harassment jokes are hilarious. Steve Hall, a blogger for AdRants, penned a post in which he said, ” … feminist blogging should be outlawed.” Banging my head against the wall. [AdRants] Strategy here? Notice the opposite sex’s outrage over something you yourself have never experienced, counter the outrage with a preposterous and attention-getting statement! Mix well and serve.

Today’s Lady News: Method Soap Commercial Thinks Sexual Harassment Is A Joke

  • Pervy talking soap bubbles that sexually harass a woman while she takes a shower? Catcalling and antagonizing a woman is so hilarious, Method. And to think, I actually used to buy your soap, too.
