I got my first text from this guy I’ve liked forever. Finally, after years of subtly dangling the carrot that is moi, he started running for the bait. But what was I supposed to text back? I decided to call in reinforcements. I phoned my friend in a healthy, awesome, long-term relationship and I asked her how I should respond to his mobile message. To my surprise, she was like, “No way, do not text him back. You totally have the upper hand. And if he wants to actually talk to you, he’ll step up his game.” In the interest of trying something totally new, I listened to her and didn’t hit him back … even though I was just home, chillin’ with my friend, Bottle O’ White Wine. Anyway, the dude blew up my phone, my email, and my dang Facebook page. It was a rainstorm of communication over the next couple of days. So, to all the single ladies, I learned something from my experience. There are a whole lot of reasons not to be so quick to respond all the time. Keep reading »

Former New Hampshire high school teacher Melinda Dennehy, 41, pleaded guilty to emailing a 15-year-old student naked pictures of herself with her “genitals exposed,” as well as detailing all the naughty things she wanted to do to the kid via text and kissing him on more than one occasion. The bad gal was caught in March after nakey pics of her were found going around the school. Awkward. Dennehy got a suspended jail sentence on the condition she behaves herself and stays away from the boy and his school. [HuffingtonPost] Keep reading »
Alright, enough with the Jesse James bashing. There, I said it. I’m tired of it. Lady blogs, celebrity blogs, gossip blogs, every single other kind of blogs — they’re all beating him up like he’s the latest, greatest punching bag. Get over it. He messed up. Why is everyone so hell-bent on bashing him? Sure, cheating on your wife, dating sleazy strippers, and taking photos while doing the Hitler salute are not the best life choices. But can’t we lay off the guy already? Keep reading »
A pair of flight attendants in Dubai has been sentenced to three months in jail. Their offense? They sent each other flirty text messages. Apparently, this is a crime because the woman in the pair was married—she’s since filed for divorce—and thus the texts represent “intent to commit sin.” If there had been any evidence that they actually had an affair, things would’ve been a lot worse. Of course, three months in jail for some sexts is pretty harsh—if that were the case here, every high schooler in the country would be in jail for life by now. Perhaps this couple should’ve have mexted instead? Keep reading »
Perhaps Olympic snowboarder Scotty Lago should have paid more attention to the media frenzy that occurred after Michael Phelps was photographed smoking pot at a party last year? On Thursday, the adorable Scotty won the bronze medal in the men’s halfpipe. After standing on the podium and hearing the national anthem, he went out to party with some of his fellow teammates at a Vancouver nightclub. At some point during the night, Scotty encountered a young, Asian woman—who we can only assume was pretty blitzed—and a friend snapped a few photos of her smooching Scotty on the cheek, and draping herself over teammate Louie Vito. Next, Scotty draped his bronze medal around his waist, so it hung over his crotch, and the girl kissed it.
I have this great boyfriend. We live together, he is never not able to be found, he buys great gifts for me and my daughter. He does home improvements to my home, mows my lawn and constantly tells me that he loves and adores me. And his family is great to me and my daughter too. Here’s the kicker. I know for a fact (because I snoop) that he goes online and meets girls. He gives out his number and corresponds with them, but as far as I can tell, he never really meets up with them. How can he when we are together all the time? He never has guy friends that he goes out with. He never goes out with anyone but me. When he is home, he keeps his phone turned off so I can’t see/hear who is calling. BTW: He’s a cop and works the midnight shift. I have caught him before sending dirty texts to girls that he says are friends (that I guess he meets online) and tells me this is no worse than using a 900 number. I think he does it just for sexual stimulation. Since I found this out, he has blocked texting on his phone for me. Part of me wants to dump him, but on the other hand, he is really good to me. If I didn’t snoop, I would have no reason to question his whereabouts or his love for me. Is this kind of behavior acceptable? Am I dealing with a nut? Or am I crazy to put up with it? I feel like anyone I meet will have some sort of issues that I will have to deal with, and they may not be as good to me as he is. — Cop’s Girlfriend
