In the light of recent sex scandals involving yoga “gurus” Bikram Choudhury and John Friend, Miami-based Budokon teacher, Cameron Shayne (pictured above), who’s known as the “world authority on yogic and martial arts integration,” penned a lengthy, braggy, philosophically dense missive for RebelleSociety.com about why having sex with students is totally ethical. In his piece, “Hot Sex For Real Yogis: Can I Have Sex With My Yoga Teacher?” Shayne seeks to answer the question: “Should we as Yoga teachers, and others as yoga students be restricted or limited regarding our sexual partnerships in order to accommodate the beliefs of others?”
The “beliefs of others” being? Well, I’m not sure, but his answer is obviously NO considering that he opens by confessing that he’s slept with several of his students. “As a single male yoga teacher, I have had on more than one occasion engaged in deep and meaningful intimate relationships with a woman I have met either in my class, workshops or in the yoga community,” Shayne writes. In addition, he makes it clear that he doesn’t regret any of these sexual relationships — even the ones that ended like a “Woody Allen tragedies” because “mistake-making [is] essential to the human experience. Therefore you cannot have sex with the wrong person — only a person that provides you with another intrinsic part of the whole that becomes your story.” Keep reading »

Click through for a small smattering of female teachers whose actions were far more despicable than Carly’s. Prepare to be appalled.

Generally, we are completely underwhelmed by the “celebrities” who make it onto “Celebrity Wife Swap.” But I am pretty fascinated by the latest two who will be trading wives, and lives, for an upcoming episode of the show. Apparently, today Ted Haggard—the former pastor of New Life Church who was ousted when it was discovered that he frequented a male prostitute (for massages, y’all)—filmed an episode of the show. So whose wife did he get? Gary Busey’s. Yes, the actor and artist who was on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” Keep reading »
Over the past few years working at The Frisky, I have covered an exorbitant number of sex scandals. It’s pretty clear to all of us that sex scandals are cropping up more and more frequently, for both politicians and celebrities. It’s unclear whether people are stepping out more on their marriages, or if technology (texting, Twitter, Facebook) leaves people more vulnerable to being caught, or if our 15-seconds-of-fame culture leads second and third parties to step forward and soak up the limelight more than they would have in the past. But it’s clear that something is certainly up. Insert Weiner joke here.
Oddly, through the sex scandal onslaught, I feel like we’ve learned an awful lot. After the jump, 45 lessons—both big and small—that recent sex scandals have taught us. Who knew they were so educational? Keep reading »
Just a few days after the world got a peek at Anthony Weiner’s wiener, his spokesperson made a big announcement—Weiner is taking a leave of absence from his post on Capitol Hill to “seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person.” In other words, like sex scandalites Jesse James and Tiger Woods before him—who I should point out, had actual sex a lot in the scandals that cost them their wives and reputations—Anthony is checking into sex rehab. Here’s hoping Weiner gets some good therapy and learns what he was seeking in sending out sexy emails to six different women despite being married.
But at the same time, the newest Weiner pic to surface might be the most damaging. Yeah, even more damaging than his peen shot. Keep reading »
It’s been a busy few weeks for political sex scandals. First we found out that Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a love child—well, possibly two—more than 10 years ago without wife Maria Shriver‘s knowledge. And then came Weinergate, in which Democrat Anthony Weiner ‘fessed up to sexting with six women, even sending one of them a picture of his … wiener.
This has us wondering—which political party has the worst sex scandals? After the jump, a highly scientific study*. Keep reading »
