Last week, I called Carly McKinney, the Colorado high school teacher who was fired for tweeting pot smoking endorsements and half-naked pictures of herself, “the world’s most idiotic teacher.” I stand by this proclamation. What she did was straight up shitbrained. But to be fair, there are soooo many other teachers out there — too many for me to write about– who make Carly McKinney look like a damn saint. John Travolta is being sued in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles by a masseur, named only as John Doe, who accuses the star of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking $2 million in damages. According to the lawsuit, Travolta saw the masseur’s ad online and scheduled an appointment for $200 an hour, and then tried to have sex with him during the massage, in a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Jan. 16. Apparently, today Ted Haggard—the former pastor of New Life Church who was ousted when it was discovered that he frequented a male prostitute (for massages, y’all)—filmed an episode of the show. Over the past few years working at The Frisky, I have covered an exorbitant number of sex scandals. It’s pretty clear to all of us that sex scandals are cropping up more and more frequently, for both politicians and celebrities. It’s unclear whether people are stepping out more on their marriages, or if technology (texting, Twitter, Facebook) leaves people more vulnerable to being caught, or if our 15-seconds-of-fame culture leads second and third parties to step forward and soak up the limelight more than they would have in the past. Anthony Weiner Checks Into Sex Rehab
Just a few days after the world got a peek at Anthony Weiner’s wiener, his spokesperson made a big announcement—Weiner is taking a leave of absence from his post on Capitol Hill to “seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person.” In other words, like sex scandalites Jesse James and Tiger Woods before him—who I should point out, had actual sex a lot in the scandals that cost them their wives and reputations—Anthony is checking into sex rehab. Here’s hoping Weiner gets some good therapy and learns what he was seeking in sending out sexy emails to six different women despite being married.
