“Sex and the City” has launched scores of fashion trends, from nameplate necklaces to ginormous flower pins, and the second movie, out May 27, will likely cause the same frenzy among women who want to be Carrie Bradshaw. The movie’s costume designer, Patricia Field, told MarieClaire.com she thinks clover leaf necklaces, which Carrie wears in the new film, could become the next SATC-inspired craze. Carrie Bradshaw and the gang have come a loooong way since the first season of “Sex and the City” premiered on HBO in 1998. That first episode — with its interstitial voiceovers from minor characters, which thankfully didn’t make it out of the first season, unfortunate hair, sometimes wacky outfits and Carrie chain-smoking in her studio apartment — is what made America fall in love with Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. These were four single women living, working, loving and partying in the playground of New York City. We could have been like them. New “Sex And The City 2″ Trailer Looks Less Than Boring

Even if you feel like “Sex and the City” should call it quits already, the people behind the show and movies sure know how to cause a spectacle. We saw the teaser for the second movie back in December, but it didn’t reveal much in the way of plot lines and we were like, whatever. But now that we’ve seen bits of what’s going to happen — Charlotte’s tired of her kids! Aidan returns! Penelope Cruz does something! Naughty things happen in the desert! — we’re sort of excited. Most likely, the movie will be cheesy (Miley Cyrus makes an appearance, after all), but we’ll round up our pals and make a trip to the theater because it’ll be an event — one that will be preceded by cocktails, of course. This time around there won’t be any will-it-ever-happen talk like there was with “Sex and the City: The Movie” because Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and HBO have confirmed a sequel to the $153 million grossing film. In order to have a 2010 release, said Parker, production would have to begin this summer. Costume designer Patricia Field told MTV that a sequel is in the works, but only in the very early states and she has yet to receive any official information — which we take to mean a plot and a script.     It’s only been a few months since the “Sex and the City” movie premiered, but we’re just about ready for a run-in with our four best friends. So we’re really stoked that the movie is available on DVD and Blu-ray TODAY! As you know, the clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories were all fabulous in the movie, but what’s so great about SATC is that it always gives us a little clarity about our real lives, even if the dialogue is a tad cheesy.
