Oh, I’m sorry, Justin-sleeps-with-hookers who? I had always pegged Selena Gomez as more of a Glamour girl, but here’s what I get for making snap judgements: this beyond gorgeous, very Fashion editorial in artsy culture publication Flaunt. Keep reading »

Selena Gomez has a new reason to be pissed at Justin Bieber. It appears that the “Come & Get It” singer is trying to move on, but the rep of her ex is getting in the way. In fact, fear of Justin’s retaliation scared one really cool, totally smitten guy away — who also happens to be a huge pop superstar.
Recently, The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes admitted that he would have pursued a relationship with Selena had it not been for Justin. Read more at The Stir…
As far as Teen Idols go these days, I back Selena Gomez one hundred percent — Selener seems genuinely sweet and level-headed, especially amongst the venomous Taylor Swift types of the pop world. (Plus, she was in “Spring Breakers,” and you know how we feel about “Spring Breakers.”) She’s also consistently ace on the style front, historically favoring designers like Versace and Dolce & Gabbana for turnt up, va-va-voom glamour. But this busy Vera Wang frock, which Selena chose for the premiere of “Getaway,” just isn’t doing it for me. I’m all for a Japanese-inspired floral print, but there’s, like, five of them on this mini, and the retro black lace heels don’t do the rest of the look any favors. I can’t say I’m certain what she was going for here, but I definitely don’t think it’s workin’. What say you?

There are many things about Selena Gomez that I do not aspire to. (See: pop stardom, capricious relationship with the escaped asylum patient previously known as Justin Bieber.) Her hair, on the other hand? Yup, Selena Gomez is currently wearing my long, thick, voluminous, unkempt yet glossy dream hair. I would steal that shit straight off her head any day. [Photo: WENN]
This morning I read that Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift went out to dinner together at Chili’s, a revelation which instantly made me like both of them so much more. Just the idea of two hugely famous multimillionaires splitting a sizzling bacon ranch quesadilla in a corner booth and gossiping about Justin Bieber fills me with delight. I’m not sure if it’s residual Chili’s adoration or what, but I’m also really digging this boho outfit Selena was spotted in recently. Is it a little over the top? Sure. Is the sight of her wearing leather boots in LA making my feet sweat profusely? Definitely. It’s a lot of look, but I think she’s pulling it off. Selena, next time I hit up Chili’s, I will raise my El Niño® Margarita to your fearless fashion sense. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
It seems like heavy, chunky scarves are kind of a year round accessory in Los Angeles. Here’s Ms. Selena Gomez in a scarf, sandals and boyfriend jeans, on her way to the gym. It’s a good spring look, because you can easily add a layer with a cardigan, or strip down to a tank top if you’re having drinks at a sidewalk cafe. Which is what we imagine Selena did after her gym stopover. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Celebrity gossip is not the place to look for nuance or thoughtfulness. A lot of it is downright sexist. Take, for example, today’s headline on New York Post gossip page’s Page Six column, “Selena Gomez ‘To Blame For Justin Bieber’s Behavior’.”
You’re probably aware that pop stars Gomez and Bieber were, for a time, a couple. They broke up. You’re also probably aware that Bieber has been losing it a little bit lately: arguing with his neighbors, showing up late/canceling concerts, trying to fight paparazzi, running around in gas masks, abandoning his pet monkey.
Apparently, all of that is his ex-girlfriend’s fault! Keep reading »
