Longtime readers of The Frisky will know I don’t make statements like this lightly: I think I may have found a baby animal just as cute as a baby panda. Look at those faces! These playful baby seal pups may live on South Georgia Island near Antarctica, but they’re drawn to cameras like a freak to a reality show casting call. Bark, bark! [YouTube via PaperMag.com]
Earlier this week, a woman in New Zealand came home to find a furry, adorable surprise — a baby seal pup was cozied up on the corner of her couch, blissfully sleeping. The pup had apparently traveled from the nearby Bay of Plenty, through the busy streets of the town of Tauranga, and wandered into Annette Swoffer’s home. The little guy traveled, say experts, at least five kilometers from his native habitat to end up as a couch potato. Weirdly, this isn’t the first time this seal pup — dubbed Lucky — has wandered far from home. Local residents have called authorities about the wandering seal two other times. And Lucky is hardly the only wild animal to show up where he’s least expected. Read on for some more bizarre stories of animals coming in from the wild.
