Want A Peek Inside Coco Chanel’s Apartment?

chanel apartment

If “Coco Avant Chanel” didn’t satisfy your prying mind about the iconic designer, here’s a bit of eye candy for you. The fashion blog Sea of Shoes got a very privileged look at Coco Chanel‘s Parisian apartment at 31 Rue Cambon. It isn’t anything like we expected! The vibe we get from the photos of the warm-toned living room and dining room with a classically set table feels much more masculine than Paris-chic. The aesthetic relies on global decor with screens that look like they were imported from China once upon a time and statues of camels and giraffes. Take a tour yourself by checking out the pics after the jump! [Sea of Shoes]

A Look At Jane Aldridge’s And Other Debs’ Crillon Ball Gowns

jane Aldridge

Once a year, the crème de la crème of international teenage society gets invited to the fancy Crillon Ball in Paris. It’s a debutante ball, so the focus, of course, is on the girls, who range in status from royalty to daughters of industry billionaires. It’s the ultimate coming-out party hyped mainly for the fashion. Each deb gets presented in some crazy couture, if not made specifically for them, then straight off the runway.

This year, Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes fame managed to score an invite, making her the Cinderella of the bunch. While the rest of her peers come from wealthy and noble pedigrees, Aldridge’s background doesn’t exactly compete. Of course, her celebrity blogger status probably makes her the most press-popular of the girls. Here’s Jane in her dress—Chanel Haute Couture! After the jump, a look at a few of our favorite 2009 Crillon debutantes and their dresses. [WWD]

How Much Do You Dress Up For Routine Stuff?

jane aldridge

While fashion blogger Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes makes dressing up her job, you’d expect that from time to time you might catch her making a coffee run in nothing more than a pair of sneaks and some wrinkled jeans. It would seem, however, that Jane would never make the pages of “Stars! They’re Just Like Us!” because she takes fashion so seriously that she always wears something rad. Always. The teen blogger once told Teen Vogue that it doesn’t matter where she’s going, she makes it a point to put together an outfit, which she enjoys and makes her feel good. In Jane’s most recent Sea of Shoes post, this proves to be true, as she’s put up some pics of her in a grocery store with one very chic getup—shearling sweater, an emerald crushed velvet skirt held up by a larger-than-life belt, and (of course), some sky-high pumps.

Review: Sea Of Shoes For Urban Outfitters Holiday Collection

Sea of Shoes shoes in trees

The second round of Jane Aldridge (the teenage Texan behind the blog Sea of Shoes) for Urban Outfitters footwear is out and we’re still, sadly, underwhelmed. The holiday collection is a step up from her last collaboration effort which, if you recall, was painfully unoriginal. This time around, at least, we’d actually be vaguely interested in wearing two of the three pairs and the general level of copycatting has fallen down a few notches. Let’s take a closer look, after the jump!

Sea Of Shoes’ Jane Aldridge To Attend Fancy Deb Ball In Paris

Jane Aldridge Of Sea Of Shoes

What a charmed life teenage fashion bloggers lead. They sit front row at fashion shows, grace the covers and pages of magazines, and, apparently, get to wear Chanel Haute Couture dresses. Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes, who also designs footwear for Urban Outfitters, will attend the fancy-pants Hôtel de Crillon Bal des Débutantes in November wearing Chanel Haute Couture.

Inside The “Sea Of Shoes” Bloggers’ House

Dining room

We all click on over to fashion blog “Sea of Shoes” to soak in the photos of heels we can’t afford and the sometimes crazy but otherwise inspired styling by both mother and daughter Aldridge. But what I mostly can’t get enough of is in the background of their photos—the ah-mazingly decorated home they live in. Have you ever seen a more glam dining room (above)? Sigh. Style/SWOON just posted a better look at their eclectic and slightly madcap interiors. Get a home tour, after the jump…

Sea Of Shoes Drowning In Unoriginality

Jane Aldridge Sea of Shoes for Urban Outfitters

We were excited (and a bit jealous) about 17-year-old fashion blogger Jane Aldridge’s Urban Outfitters shoe collaboration. Now the pictures are out and we’re just bored. So bored.

Cue Jealousy: 17-Year-Old Fashion Blogger To Design Line For Urban Outfitters

jane from sea of shoes

When you were a teen, you were lucky if your claim to fame was getting the lead in the school play or a profile in your local newspaper. Oh, how times have changed, especially for Jane Aldridge, the 17-year-old blogger behind the fashion site, Sea of Shoes, who was asked to collaborate with Urban Outfitters to design a line of, duh, shoes. Sea of Shoes by Jane will hit stores in July with three pairs, followed by another three for a winter collection in December. No word yet on what they’ll look like, but guesses are leaning towards something edgy and high-fashion, as Jane’s favorite designers include the likes of YSL and Martin Margiela. Jane is already the enviable type—her blog shows pictures of her in an incredible (and expensive) wardrobe, as well as traveling the world with her equally gorgeous former-model-mother. Oh, and she’s been featured in Teen Vogue twice. We’re furiously jealous of her awesome life, but won’t be so stuck up as to ignore her line once it comes out. In fact, we’ll probably buy the whole collection. Imitation, you know, is the sincerest form of flattery. [BlackBook]
