Here’s a testament to just how loyal readers of fashion blogs are: when Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge announced an art contest on her site, she received hundreds of submissions. Asking readers to interpret their favorite spring runway look, people came up with all sorts of crazy things from paintings and illustrations to ” dolls, cakes, animals, and dresses made of paint swatches.” You can see a huge gallery of the submissions on her Flickr page, or check out the latest entry to see her top 15. Jane Aldridge Constantly Violated Dress Code—Did Your Outfits Get You In Trouble, Too?

When you’re a teenager and have a closet like Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge, you’d imagine that the high school halls would be your runway. Turns out, Jane’s dreams were often cut short because she was constantly getting in trouble at school for her fashion choices. In this video (starting around 42 seconds), she explains that “I felt so repressed by public school, how, like, they tried to make every kid the same and if you didn’t wear the same thing as everyone else then you had to go to, like, a special class … I was sent to the office everyday for the shoes I wore.” We admit that we were sometimes reprimanded for violating dress code—although our belly tops and showing bra straps were a far cry from Chanel platform heels.

Jane Aldridge, the lucky teen behind fashion blog Sea of Shoes is no stranger to multitasking. Aside from the many projects and collaborations she takes on with her mom and designers, she also maintains another photo blog called They Don’t Call Them Lovers in High School, Leeland. Yesterday, Jane tweeted a link to yet another blog endeavor, explaining that she “always has a new secret blog.” This one is called BeautyStyleShopping, although we don’t see how any of the posts relate to those subjects. Using photo collages or plain images completely out of context, there’s no text explanation either for what the blog is trying to achieve. We guess this is what you might call, uh, artsy? Family Jewels: Sea Of Shoes Launches Jewelry Line With Her Aunt

Sea of Shoes blogger Jane Aldridge has got some good family genes. For starters, you can see it in her face, thanks to a former model mom. But Jane and her mother have also managed to put their smarts to good use together, collaborating on their blogs and designing capsule collections for big names. Now, Jane’s aunt Karen is getting in on the action. Together, they’re launching a jewelry line of over-sized nature-inspired pieces. Jane explains that Karen has a background in entomology, so it makes sense that their first creation is a huge buckle belt in the shape of a beetle. From the looks of the high prices ($600) and artisan craftsmanship, it seems that these babies will probably be on special order. But for something this beetletastic? We’d expect no less. The fashion blog Sea of Shoes got a very privileged look at Coco Chanel‘s Parisian apartment at 31 Rue Cambon. It isn’t anything like we expected! The vibe we get from the photos of the warm-toned living room and dining room with a classically set table feels much more masculine than Paris-chic. The aesthetic relies on global decor with screens that look like they were imported from China once upon a time and statues of camels and giraffes. A Look At Jane Aldridge’s And Other Debs’ Crillon Ball Gowns

Once a year, the crème de la crème of international teenage society gets invited to the fancy Crillon Ball in Paris. It’s a debutante ball, so the focus, of course, is on the girls, who range in status from royalty to daughters of industry billionaires. It’s the ultimate coming-out party hyped mainly for the fashion. Each deb gets presented in some crazy couture, if not made specifically for them, then straight off the runway.

This year, Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes fame managed to score an invite, making her the Cinderella of the bunch. While the rest of her peers come from wealthy and noble pedigrees, Aldridge’s background doesn’t exactly compete. Of course, her celebrity blogger status probably makes her the most press-popular of the girls. Here’s Jane in her dress—Chanel Haute Couture!
