The November issue of Vanity Fair features one of my favorite actresses, Penelope Cruz, on the cover, channeling Elizabeth Taylor in “Cleopatra.” And in the cover story, Penelope’s interviewer pauses to ask her a very important—no, make that universe-altering—question: Who’s the better kisser, Scarlett Johansson, whom she smooched in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” or Charlize Theron, whom she kissed in the 2004 flick, “Head in the Clouds.” Penelope played coy and answered, “No matter how I answer that I will be in trouble. Both were pretty beautiful partners.” [Vanity Fair via Daily News]

But interestingly, back in 2006, when Penelope was asked to divulge her best onscreen kiss ever, she said, “Can I say Charlize Theron? Yes, Charlize, Charlize, Charlize.” Could ScarJo have topped that? It’s possible—she did score Ryan Reynolds.

Now that girl-on-girl kisses are no big thing on TV and in movies (though we still think way too many are publicity stunts), there are many A-list actresses who have swapped spit with multiple starlets onscreen. Here, 13 examples, with video, natch.

It seems Scarlett Johansson is the go-to Hollywood starlet for music videos these days. First, there was the video she made with Bob Dylan for his single, “When The Deal Goes Down,” in which she was featured in a “montage of sixties-style home movie clips.” Then, she starred in Justin Timberlake’s music video for his single, “What Goes Around Comes Around,” in which she’s a blond bombshell Timberlake spends the duration of the video seducing. Now, Scarlett joins Pete Yorn in a video for the single “Relator,” from their collaborative album, “Break Up.”

For the ceremony announcing her as the new face of Mango, Scarlett Johansson rocked a super sleek style that had a bit of a sexy edge. Scarlett paired a flutter sleeve satin top with a waist cinching black skirt- both from Mango. She completed the look with a funky pair of snakeskin shoes, gold bangles, and a large ring on her index finger. This ensemble perfectly complemented Scarlett’s incredible figure so keeping the accessories to a minimum was definitely a wise move- it would have just been overkill otherwise. Rydonna? Ryarlett? I don’t know what we’ll call them, but Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson may be the newest celebs to start adopting a small tribe. The hunky “Proposal” star recently blabbed to Britain’s Glamour magazine that he “couldn’t be more pro-adoption” and “has every intention of adopting at some time.”  Why? Because his older brother was adopted. Well, Ryan is 32, so it’s time to get cracking! Not sure yet where he is thinking of eventually picking up his little one, but I know one girl in Manhattan who would love the gig. [I’m Not Obsessed]

In the July issue of InStyle, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were interviewed for two separate stories—him for the “Man of Style” and her for “Beauty Talk”—but the recently married couple are either totally on the same page or did their interviews with the other in the room, because they have similar wishes.

French Elle has bitch slapped the fashion and beauty industries with their most recent cover. Again. For the second time this year, their cover shoot was minimally made up and, dare I say it, almost natural looking. We loved when they shot hottie model Eva Herzigova sans makeup a couple months again, putting her in a pared down white blouse and similarly laid back hair.

This time though, we weren’t so thrilled. Yes, we applaud the move away from airbrushed impossibility in the general sense, but Scarlett Johansson’s cover is a tad confusing. She’s minimally made up and there doesn’t seem to be blatant airbrushing, but the clothing is a bit trampy, the hair super boring and the expression utterly vacant. This one’s just not doing it for us.

Scarlett Johannson must have read about this study that says women feel their sexiest at 32, because the 24-year-old actor wishes she was 10 years older. “I don’t feel sexy, not right now. I think there is kind of an ingenue thing that women play when they are in their 20s. They are sort of these whimsical, sort of transient characters, and it’s like that in life,” she said. Although we can’t comprehend how Johansson doesn’t feel sexy with that body and intelligence, we totally buy her reason for wanting to be older in Hollywood: “Women in their 30s, and actors in their 30s, suddenly take on far meatier roles. They are playing mothers and wives and women who have been through a life – before the place that they are at that moment. And I look forward to that time when I’ll be able to have more of a life that I have experienced to put into the roles,” she said. For someone who wants more life experiences, Johansson sure has good advise on relationships…
