Adult Film Actress Sasha Grey Discusses Health Care Legislation

To be perfectly honest, I haven’t been following the national health care debate all that closely. Not, that is, until I heard what adult actress Sasha Grey had to say about it. Sure, Obama’s views are important, but what does a porn star think? That’s what I wanted to know. Here, care of our boys at Asylum, Sasha chats health care with a guy from “Human Giant” pretending to be Bob Guccione. Then the pizza guy shows up. I think I need a shower. [Asylum] Keep reading »

What’s So Wrong With Sasha Grey Liking A Good Gang Bang?

Those of you who’ve seen Steven Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience” will know a little bit about Sasha Grey, who plays the main character. Those of you who are porn enthusiasts will know a hell of a lot more, seeing as Grey has been in more than 160 porn flicks over the past three years. From “Teenage Whores 3″ to “Anal Cavity Search 6,” Sasha’s done it all. (Or at least most of it.)

But while Grey’s been a porn world bad ass for a while, starring in a Soderbergh film has, uh, exposed her to a more mainstream and art house audience. It’s also opened her up to a s**t storm of criticism for participating in what many consider to be an exploitative industry. Keep reading »

The Boyfriend Experience

By now, you’ve probably heard of “The Girlfriend Experience,” Steven Soderbergh’s new movie about a high-end call girl who charges $2,000 for the privilege of letting guys pretend she’s their girlfriend and who’s played by porn star Sasha Grey. But have you heard of “The Boyfriend Experience”? The crew over at Totally Sketch has created a highly amusing faux trailer for the nonexistent sequel to the GFE feature. This time, the storyline focuses on a nice young woman who has a total jerk for a boyfriend. And guess how much he charges by the hour to ignore you, eat your food, and make a mess everywhere? Well, it’s a heck of a lot more than you’d think. [Cinematical] Keep reading »

New Trailer For Steven Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience”

Check out the new trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s latest movie, “The Girlfriend Experience.” Starring adult film star Sasha Grey as a Manhattan-based, $2,000-an-hour call girl, “The Girlfriend Experience” seeks to peek behind the curtain at what it’s really like to have sex for a living. The “girlfriend experience,” or “GFE,” as it’s known on Craigslist, is a type of escorting in which the woman offers services, as it were, more akin to what a girlfriend would offer than, say, a so-called “hooker,” whether that’s kissing, companionship, or conversation. While several reviewers who screened an unfinished version of the movie at this year’s Sundance Film Festival said the movie felt “cold,” and some questioned Soderbergh’s pick of an adult actress in the starring role, the trailer looks pretty awesome. I’m a Soderbergh fan, and while this movie may or may not accurately reflect the reality of the upper-echelon call girl experience, it sure does look pretty. [Buzzfeed] Keep reading »

“See it with someone you ****.” Well, that‘s a movie tagline I haven’t seen before. The movie is Steven Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience,” which takes a peek behind the curtain at the real life of a high-end call girl. The movie’s star? Sasha Grey, a porn star. [Buzzfeed] Keep reading »

Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience Screens At Sundance

The latest buzz at this year’s Sundance Film Festival centers around Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming movie, “The Girlfriend Experience.” The film has gotten tons of attention since it was announced, for two reasons. It’s a peek into the exclusive, mostly unseen world of high-end escorting. And, its star is Sasha Grey, a 20-year-old adult film star. This week, “The Girlfriend Experience” made its debut at the festival, and the reviews range from positive to mixed. Defamer reports: “[A]s Soderbergh films go, it’s in the austere league of ‘Bubble’ and ‘Che,’ likely to confound the average moviegoer and irritate the eager pornhound Grey-ophile — which is kind of how we like him.” Even though it stars a porn star, the movie features no explicit sex, nor, opines Defamer, “any sexiness whatsoever.” Other critics describe “GFE” as “not-half-bad,” “a nuanced character study,” and “fascinating.” Keep reading »
