Sarah Jessica Parker: Single In The City Again?

Sarah Jessica Parker is thinking about going downtown. She’s had her fun as an uptown girl with Sex in the City, but now that it’s finished off, she’s looking for a new sensation. SJP is currently in talks to play an single mother in the city that lives about 50 blocks south of her old bachlorette pad in the The Ivy Chronicles. Based on Karen Quinn’s novel of the same name, it’s another guaranteed chick flick hit. But will she sign on with Warner Brothers and make the movie? [Huffington Post]

Slideshow: 2008 MTV Movie Awards

At last night’s MTV Movie Awards, there were lots of bad clothes. Personally, I think Ellen Page (winner of Best Female Performance) dressed quite appropriately for the event, wearing jeans and sneakers. Fancy dresses are not what the MTV Movie Awards should be about, especially if they’re short dresses. As Lindsay Lohan discovered, wearing a short dress while sitting in a movie theater means showing more leg than you may have planned. [MTV] Keep reading »

Final Purge: Sex And The City Mania!

We swear, after Monday, when Catherine and I will have a brief IM about what we thought of the movie, we will not write about this show AGAIN. Or at least for a very, very long time. — Editor

    Exclusive! Square Pegs Minisode

I know you’ve have all been dying to watch Square Pegs, which came out on DVD this week, and now you don’t even have to buy the DVD or add it to your Netflix queue. The Minisode Network, an online channel on Crackle, YouTube, MySpace, and a bunch of other places online, features condensed five- to seven-minute episodes of classic TV shows, and it’s adding Square Pegs to its lineup on Monday! Above is a exclusive sneak peak at one Square Pegs Minisode. In case you forgot, Square Pegs was a show on CBS in 1982 and stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Amy Linker as two teens who are desperate to fit in at Weemawee High School. It feels a lot like My So-Called Life or Freaks and Geeks but with fabulous ’80s outfits.

    Crave: SJP In Square Pegs

Confession: I’ve actually never seen Square Pegs, the short-lived series from 1982 starring Sarah Jessica Parker. The show is about Patty (SJP) and Lauren (Amy Linker), who are just two freshman high schoolers trying to fit in. Lately, with all of the press for the Sex and the City movie, I’ve been reading a lot about it, and lucky me, it just came out on DVD! [Amazon.com] Keep reading »

Carrie Bradshaw Would Like Her Desk Back

After Sex and the City ended its run on HBO in 2004, Carrie’s desk and laptop were donated to The Smithsonian museum. But then when they decided to do a movie and needed them back. (I don’t understand why they would need her laptop back — if she really is a successful writer with a few books under her belt, you would think that she could afford a MacBook Air.) The Smithsonian was rather reluctant to hand over the props, and Sarah Jessica Parker had to get involved: “After the series finale The Smithsonian called us to ask for the desk and laptop from the TV show. They only released it back [for use for the film] after I made several personal calls. When it was suggested I use a replica because no one would know it a replica, I said ‘I will know.’ We had to have that desk — as a writer, it’s an extension of you.” [ContactMusic.com]

Frisky Quote Of The Day: Sarah Jessica Parker

“She would probably long for that earlier type of heartbreak versus what she experiences this time around. The disappointment and the loss is so painful because they’re grown-ups now, and it just changes, as we all know.” — Sarah Jessica Parker, on her Sex And The City: The Movie character, Carrie, to New York magazine.
