Quickies: Donald Trump Wants Sarah Palin To Run For Prez & Gwyneth Paltrow Joins Twitter

Sarah Palin and Donald Trump photo
  • Donald Trump told reporters he’d “love” for Sarah Palin to run for president. Why am I not surprised these two are chummy with each other? [TMZ]
  • Kim Kardashian is taking her fiancé Kris Humphries’ last name. It’s her choice, obviously, but IMHO “Kim Humphries” does not have the same ring to it. [TMZ]
  • Ladyblog Jezebel attempts to explain why Courtney Love hates them. This post is amazing, but let’s be real. Who gives a flying f**k what Courtney Love says about anything? [Jezebel]
  • Relax, everybody. Snooki’s neck brace after her fender bender was just a joke. The Wookie shoes, however, were dead serious. [People]

Sarah Palin Rides In Motorcycle Rally, Making A Presidential Run Look Certain

“How do you wear all this leather and stay cool? I love that smell of the emissions.”

Sarah Palin not only loves hunting. Apparently, she’s into motorcycling, too, even if she doesn’t get wearing head-to-toe leather in the summer. Palin is currently on a bus tour of the Eastern U.S., and yesterday headed to Washington, D.C., to participate in Rolling Thunder, an annual motorcycle rally for veterans that happens in conjunction with the parade on the National Mall. Folks, put on your helmets. It sure looks like we are in for a Sarah Palin 2012 campaign for the presidency after all. [Fox News] Keep reading »

Today’s Lady News: Sarah Palin Gets A Documentary Called “The Undefeated”

  • A documentary about Sarah Palin called “The Undefeated” is set to premiere in Iowa next month. Just last week Palin and her husband, Todd, watched the final cut off the video at the new home they’ve reportedly bought in Arizona. The film was financed and made by conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon, who last year debuted a documentary about the Tea Party, “Generation Zero,” on the Fox News Channel. The documentary is about Palin’s record in Alaska, focusing on her life before she and her family shot to international fame. Bannon reportedly wants to help reacquaint the country with Palin’s core values in an effort to make her a more viable candidate for a presidential run. Anyone interested in checking out “The Undefeated”? [Real Clear Politics]
  • The House of Representatives banned teaching hospitals from using federal funds to teach med students how to perform abortions. Women’s health advocates say it is crucial for doctors to know how to perform abortions, even if they choose not to do so in their own practice, as they may be faced with the need to perform one as a life-saving procedure. Ugh. Everyone who voted for this should be forced to watch “The Cider House Rules.” [AP]

Britta Hanson: May The Newest Palin Turn Out Better Than Levi Johnston

Gotta love a bride who wears blue jeans and pearls on her wedding day, right? Of course I am referring to Britta Hanson, 21, the new wife of Track Palin. Last Friday, we saw Britta and Track’s wedding photos. Today, we get lots more information on the newest member of the Palin clan. Not only is Britta the daughter of a preacher man—her dad is the pastor at Wasilla’s Good Shepherd Lutheran Church—she’s also tight with several other members of the Palin family. Last year, Bristol Palin called her “roomie”—the two shared a condo in Anchorage when Bristol was “scared to live by myself.” And Britta also worked for Sarah—she was the executive secretary at Alaska’s office of the governor from 2008 through this year.

Plus, Britta sounds like one of those girls who is good at everything. Keep reading »

Is Sarah Palin Moving To Arizona?

Gird your loins, Arizona: Sarah Palin might be moving in! The Atlantic Wire reports the former governor of Alaska allegedly bought an 8,000-square foot, $1.6 million home in a secluded area of Scottsdale, Arizona. The identity of the buyer is hidden on the property records, but the lawyer for the sale suspiciously replied “No comment!” when asked if the buyer was Palin. The fancy pad features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a swimming pool and spa, a six-car garage, a wine cellar, and a guard gate. Damn! Keep reading »

Sorry Ladies: Sarah Palin’s Son, Track Palin, Is Off The Market

Ladies, our hopes for marrying into the Palin family have been dashed! (Heterosexually, at least.) Track Palin, 22, the eldest Palin child, recently married his high school sweetheart, Britta Hanson, in a small ceremony. Track Palin is an Army Reservist who was deployed for a year in Iraq; he plans to study at the University of Alaska, where his new wife is a nursing student. The happy couple wed in Hatcher Pass, Alaska, a skiing, snowboarding and hiking locale. The happy couple will hold a bigger ceremony this winter at Alaska’s Alyeska Ski Resort, when they said friends and family from the lower 48 states will be able to join them. (Hmm, could there be another Palin grandkid on the way?) What I find most interesting about this photo is that the bride appears to have wed in jeans and a white blazer, which is the low-key way I want to do it. In fact, it looks like everyone wore super-casual jeans or khakis. Maybe these Palins are onto something… [People] Keep reading »

Sarah Palin Says She Has “That Fire In My Belly.” Will She Or Won’t She Run For President in 2012?

Last night, Sarah Palin talked to Greta van Susteren over at Fox News about whether she would be throwing her hat in the ring for president in 2012. “It’s a matter for me of some kind of practical, pragmatic decisions that have to be made,” Sarah explained. “One is, with a large family understanding the huge amount of scrutiny and the sacrifices that have to be made on my children’s part in order to see their mama run for president. But yeah, the fire in the belly—it’s there.” [Politico]

I’m tempted to make the obvious joke: “No Sarah, that’s just indigestion.” But instead, after the jump, I’d like to take a look back at Sarah’s thoroughly confusing quotes about this issue over the past year. Let’s just say that she’s hinted and then recanted before. Keep reading »

Common Reads Poetry At The White House, Sarah Palin Whines About It

Sarah Palin, the mother of the world’s most famous plastic surgery laden, reality show-starring teen mom, pitched a fit this week because First Lady Michelle Obama invited the hip hop artist/actor/poet, Common, to perform poetry at the White House.

See, some of Common’s lyrics are not as G-rated as everything the Palin family does, like killing animals, surgically altering their facial features “for medical reasons” and getting knocked up whilst still in high school. Keep reading »

Levi Johnston Is A “Deer In The Headlights” On His Book Cover

The book cover for Levi Johnston’s Deer In The Headlights: My Life In Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs, is everything I hoped the rumored tell-all‘s cover would be. Levi looking hot/really baked? Check. Antler imagery? Check. No credit for the ghostwriter who probably tapped this thing out while Levi was clubbing baby seals? Check. Fact: I would never read a book by Sarah Palin, but I might just read a book by Levi Johnston. [Amazon] Keep reading »

Today’s Lady News: Sarah Palin Tweets To Obama “No Pussyfooting” On Osama Bin Laden Pic

  • Sarah Palin weighed in on the Osama bin Laden death photo debate on Twitter — because we all care what the former governor of Alaska thinks about it!!! — to tell President Obama, “Show photo as warning to others seeking America’s destruction. No pussy-footing around, no politicking, no drama; it’s part of the mission.” Translation: This was probably the only way Sarah could use the word “pussy” in reference to Obama in a tweet and not get in trouble. [BuzzFeed]
  • An Iowa bill that will ban most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy — which is when anti-abortion activists say a fetus can feel pain — was basically dead inside a state legislature committee, but a group of politicians used a loophole to send it to the Iowa Senate. The bill may be up for a vote as soon as next week. [Des Moines Register]
