Sometimes, fashion editorials and advertisements show models covered in so many layers of makeup and fancy clothes that we can’t actually see their faces, let alone recognize their natural beauty. What do models look like when stripped of the talents of makeup artists, stylists, and photo-retouchers? Click through to see 15 models going natural. We have to admit, they still look pretty darn amazing.
Jessica Pare and Zooey Deschanel were photographed for People “Most Beautiful” issue and holy crap. Mmkay, so can we all just agree that Jessica Pare should NEVER WEAR MAKE UP AGAIN? That lady is so friggin’ gorgeous it’s ridonkulous. And Zooey? Well, whatever. Fart fart fart. You either love her or think her bangs are a contrived way to drive hipster dudes completely insane. In either case, we can’t wait to pick up the issue (on stands now) and see more of these makeup-free portraits, shot by Ben Watts. Lady Gaga might have run out of outrageous gimmicry this week. That’s the only reason we can imagine she tweeted this pic of herself fresh-faced and sans fards. “Have a beautiful day,” she tweeted. We kind of love her makeup-free face. What do you think? [NY Daily News]
Khloe Kardashian stepped out yesterday without any makeup on — and she doesn’t care what you think about her “flawed” face.
“Some people are so stressed trying to be perfectly flawless … but I’m so HAPPY to be perfectly flawed,” she tweeted last night, after some fresh-faced photos of her arriving to the gym started landing online. Read more…

Katy Perry, who claims to never leave the house without makeup, apparently doesn’t sleep with a thick layer of foundation and her signature red lips. Husband Russell Brand snapped this photo of a makeup-free Perry in bed (clearly against her will) and then briefly posted it on Twitter. He took it down, but not before gossip blogs everywhere grabbed the image for themselves. How should Katy get revenge? [TooFab] Keep reading »
I met a girl the other night who, I kid you not, claims to wake up before her boyfriend to put on makeup before going back to bed and re-waking-up with him. And she said it as though it ain’t no thang. Best part? She’s been with this dude for three months. Umm, what? For me, date three typically consists of biking or rock climbing, sweat and an utter lack of eyeliner, so I was a tad flabbergasted at the thought of keeping up that charade for months. The Frisky staff has weighed in on the matter — most of us falling somewhere between sleepover one and month two — and we want to know about you, too. So tell us: how long do you go before the new guy sees you sans fards? Keep reading »
Debenhams, a department store in the U.K., has banned airbrushing in their upcoming swimsuit campaign. Pictures like the one above will appear in the store’s windows with marks at places where it might have been altered if airbrushing were involved. We think the model in the picture looks amazing as she is and it’s cool to know that she hasn’t been altered. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »
This morning, during the millionth hour of “The Today Show,” Kathie Lee and Hoda, ever on trend, decided to go sans fards
, like so many recent fashion cover models. Apparently, however, the idea came about because Rosie O’Donnell pointed out that she thought Kathie Lee had been looking differently lately, implying she had some cosmetic work done. During the makeup-less segment, Kathie Lee encourages Rosie to look for scars as evidence. Meanwhile, Hoda said she felt liberated by the experience. All of this gave me an idea, one I have not shared with the rest of the staff until just now — someday, in the near future, The Frisky will be run for a day sans fards.
Stay tuned! Keep reading »
