You know those stories that are just sad all around, the ones in which no one really wins? The story of former adult actress Janine Lindemulder battling to regain custody of her 5-year-old daughter, Sunny, from Sandra Bullock and Jesse James looks to be one of those stories. Lindemulder was recently released from prison, where she was doing time for tax evasion. Now, she wants custody of her daughter, who has been under the care of Bullock and James. A recent court filing suggests the war over Sunny is getting ugly. The Bullock/James camp points out that Lindemulder is, in addition to being a former porn star, a former substance abuser and a convicted felon. That Lindemulder recently married another convicted felon (who, judging by his tattoos, also looks to be a former gang member) probably doesn’t help her case. It’s hard to imagine that the self-proclaimed broke Lindemulder will have much luck when she goes up against the Hollywood stars’ high-powered legal team. While Sunny may well be better off with her father and step-mother, it’s hard to see a mother fighting for her child, a battle she’ll probably lose because she’s haunted by her tortured past. [GMA]

Sandra Bullock has always annoyed the crap out of me with her repeated portrayal of the stock rom-com character—the gorgeous, “quirky” girl. Even more irritating perhaps is that she is trying to live her onscreen persona off screen. Sandra’s message to the women of the world is always a variation of the same theme—be unique, ladies! Thanks for the permission, Sandy. In a recent interview with Parade, she said:

“Why is it that men are called ‘unique’ and ‘eccentric’ and ‘mavericks’ when they’re different, but women are labeled as ‘odd’ or just plain ‘weird?’ It’s about being unconventional and being true to who you are. Not fitting in often means you’re really standing out. If I can do anything in this time of my career, it’s to make it easier for girls who are growing up not to feel they have to wind up with someone to complete them. You know, I complete me. I’m just lucky that after I completed myself, I met someone who could tolerate me.”

It seems like a lot of actresses over 40 are stripping naked for roles these days. Sandra Bullock did it in “The Proposal,” Marisa Tomei got nakey in “The Wrestler” and “Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead,” Mary-Louise Parker took it all off on “Weeds,” Diane Keaton stripped in “Something’s Gotta Give,” and Kathy Bates went sans clothes in “About Schmidt.” What’s up with these relative oldsters getting undressed for the big and little screens? While a group of pessimistic psychologists were trying to plot the decline of passion in couples over the course of two decades, they accidentally discovered there were a handful of couples who were still horny, er, in love with each other.
