Retrospect is certainly 20/20. Now that Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have announced that they’re divorcing, their marriage no longer looks like the shiny, happy ball of gorgeousness that we’d assumed it was while it was intact. Naturally, rumors have started circulating about what happened to the World’s Sexiest Couple. Some are now saying that Ryan cheated—giving the friendship he struck up with his “Green Lantern” co-star Blake Lively a second glance. And looking back at quotes from Scarlett, it was pretty obvious that something was up. “We have no time for dates,” she said in an interview with Liev Schreiber in Time Out New York in 2009.

Woody Allen and Scarlett Johansson spent a fake day at a fake beach for their 2006 New York magazine story. Perhaps Scarlett’s close relationship with Woody led to her breakup with Ryan Reynolds? We’re sure Woody hopes that’s true. [Touch Puppet] Keep reading »
It’s been a year filled with celebrity breakups—from Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey to Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend. My theory is that once Courteney Cox and David Arquette called it quits, soon followed by Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman, the floodgate opened and now everyone is taking the opportunity to break up, from Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter to Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron. And then yesterday came the ultimate: Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds. This breakup hit me especially hard. After the jump, 10 reasons why. Keep reading »
Wow. Let it be said that breakups were really going around in 2010. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are getting divorced, which is about as unexpected as when they got married. “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” a statement from the two reads. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.” Alas, now I guess we won’t get to see the world’s most genetically superior children. I thought I was bummed yesterday when Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron called it quits, but now I’m downright sad. [TMZ] Keep reading »
Earlier today, The New York Daily News‘ “Gatecrasher” column ran a story postulating that Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are having marital issues because they both lead such busy lives. The proof? An anonymous source, natch, plus the fact that Ryan didn’t make a guest appearance when ScarJo hosted “Saturday Night Live” last weekend the way she did when he was hosting a year before. Even though, uh, later in the article, they go on to say that Ryan was in Los Angeles and flew to New York for Scarlett’s birthday on Monday, for a dinner with her and her siblings. The info here is sketchy at best, but what I’d like to direct your attention to is the super creative writing. Not only does the author refer to Ryan as “the abs-solutely fabulous Reynolds,” but in the same sentence, the author describes Scarlett as “his Lamborghini-curved wife.” I dunno about that one. Thoughts? [NY Daily News] Keep reading »
Here he is, Mr. Sexiest Man Alive 2010, Ryan Reynolds! Yeah, he’s been trying to claim he looked like a girl until he was 21, but this is proof he was born cute. Although, this adorbs photo is hardly the best part of this internet yearbook find. Check out the hilarious personal note he wrote in his yearbook, after the jump! [Backstage via WOW Report]

“I was such a goofball [growing up]. I went through puberty in my early 20s. That’s a big part of the problem. I looked … like sort of a very athletic girl up until I was about 21.”
—Ryan Reynolds on how surprised he was to be dubbed People‘s Sexiest Man Alive. Wait, Ryan—that’s not what we remember. We saw you on MTV’s “Fifteen” and thought you were hot then, too. [People] Keep reading »
People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” issue is out this week and this year’s top honor goes to “Green Lantern” star Ryan Reynolds. He’s cute and all, and I guess I wouldn’t kick him out of bed, but I can think of at least a dozen stars who are just as hot, if not hotter, and ooze a kind of charisma Reynolds seems to lack (IMHO). Jon Hamm, anyone? Anyway, Reynolds’ wife, the lovely Scarlett Johansson, was just named GQ‘s “Babe of the Year,” which means someone needs to name this couple’s representatives “Agents of the Year,” stat.
So do you agree with People‘s pick this year? Who’s your sexiest man alive? [via People] Keep reading »
There are good movies, there are bad movies, and then there are movies where people get buried alive. Actually, there are a lot more types of movies but, hey, it sort of has a ring to it, right? Anyway, Ryan Reynolds
recently opened up about his extremely closed-in role in “Buried,” a flick about an American in Iraq who wakes up to find himself six feet under. The actor had to spend every day of a 17-day shoot in the box. “I definitely did not look good,” Reynolds said, referring to his appearance after emerging from the darkness. [People
The “Buried” star isn’t the first actor to be buried alive in a movie. More after the jump. Keep reading »
