Ryan Gosling — an actor who The Frisky has totally neutral opinions on — says that “Blue Valentine” is a film that couples should watch together, as it’s “a cautionary tale about what can happen to love if you ignore it and you take it for granted.” We happen to think that while the love between Gosling’s Dean and Michelle Williams‘ Cindy is far from perfect, the film itself is pretty close. Impeccably acted — in fact, much of the film was improvised — “Blue Valentine” flip-flops between the past and the present state of Dean and Cindy’s relationship, showing how love can “bloom and die,” without needing to reveal the details in between. The DVD includes deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes feature, and an on-set home movie. A must-have for the “movies that illustrate how much love can hurt” section on your shelf.

Let’s cut to the chase — you’re welcome. This here is a GIF made from the just-released trailer for Ryan Gosling‘s next film, “Crazy Stupid Love,” also starring Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, and Marisa Tomei. Gosling plays a hunky ladies’ man (duh) who helps a nerdy man (Carell) — recently split from his wife (Moore) — get his mojo back. But, of course, despite being gloriously good-looking and suave, his own tricks aren’t working on the one woman (Stone) he wants. And at some point he gets naked and, no, I am not bothered in the slightest. Check out the trailer after the jump! Oh, and Buzzfeed has more amazing Gosling GIFs for your spank bank. Keep reading »
Back in February, Olivia WIlde split from her hubby, Italian prince Tao Ruspoli. We suggested some new folks for her to date next, but apparently, she doesn’t need our help. In late February, she was seen out with Ryan Gosling—interestingly, the first person we wanted to set her up with. [For the record, I am not part of this royal "we." -- Editor] But it looks like she might have moved on—over the weekend she was seen out with also newly single Justin Timberlake.
So, uh, which rumored date was better? Keep reading »
“They pegged me as the bad guy. They pulled me in one time and said, ‘If you don’t stop corrupting the girls we’re going to fire you’. I didn’t touch the girls by the way.”
– Ryan Gosling wants to assure you that despite what you might have heard from the producers of “The Mickey Mouse Club,” he did not have anything to do with Christina Aguilera‘s or Britney Spears‘ loss of innocence — then or now. [NZ Herald] Keep reading »
Oh my god, you guys, I think I just died a little inside. Ryan Gosling went to a zoo (with Evan Rachel Wood, but let’s ignore that fact because I refuse to entertain the notion that anything could be going on there) in Cincinnati and took all sorts of adorable photos with animals. I would like Ryan to look at me the way he is staring adoringly at this beast. Perhaps if I strap his head in just right… Check out more photos of Ryan Gosling making friends with animals, after the jump! [Cincinnati Zoo via ONTD] Keep reading »
Look, it’s not like I want to be posting Ryan Gosling videos every day — they just keep appearing and it’s my duty as his unofficial fan club president/lover to present them to you. In this clip, also from his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this week, Ryan shows footage he shot in Africa — for a documentary I believe — featuring a group of orphan children dancing to Rihanna’s “Rude Boy.” One girl in particular caught his eye with her “wildly unique” dance moves. I am also impressed and really think this cutie needs to be on “Toddlers & Tiaras,” stat. She would completely smoke the competition. Ryan, on the other hand, needs to rehearse a little more. Hear that sound? That’s the bittersweet noise my ladyparts make when Ryan Gosling breaks out his tiny guitar (aka the ukelele), like on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel, where he played a bit of “You Always Hurt The Ones You Love.” The sound is a mix of happiness and sorrow — joy because he is just so dreamy and sadness because it will never know his soft touch (thanks to that restraining order, sigh). It’s a tragedy really. But this clip is not. [NYMag.com] Keep reading »
Props to New York‘s Vulture blog for pointing out that two distinctly different Ryan Gosling films, “The Notebook” and “Blue Valentine,” have one distinct similarity — they each feature a scene in which Gosling’s character kinda, sorta threatens to kill himself if the object of his affection doesn’t give him what he wants. In “The Notebook,” “Noah” teases that he’ll throw himself off a Ferris Wheel if Rachel McAdams’ character “Allie” doesn’t agree to go on a date with him (above). In “Blue Valentine,” “Dean” scales a fence on the Manhattan Bridge and threatens to go even further if Michelle Williams’ character “Cindy” doesn’t confess a secret she’s been hiding (watch that clip after the jump). - Somehow, people are surprised that Ricky Gervais was “offensive” as host of the Golden Globes, but despite lampooning everyone from the cast of “The Tourist” and Robert Downey Jr. to gay Scientologists and Bruce Willis (“Ashton Kutcher’s dad”), he managed to survive the whole affair. Not that he’ll be asked back to host a second time. [Huffington Post]
- Regis Philbin announced that this will be his last hosting “Live with Regis & Kelly” — Jeff Probst is being batted around as a possible replacement, but I would prefer Kelly Ripa’s hot husband Mark Consuelos. [Yahoo News]
