Taylor Armstrong Talks In Detail About Being Abused

After the suicide of her estranged husband, Russell Armstrong, Taylor Armstrong of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” largely laid low. Then last week, a photo of Taylor with a black eye surfaced—apparently, she gave the evidence of the fact that she was abused by Russell to “Entertainment Tonight.” Last night, the show aired its segment with Taylor. In it, she talks in detail about being beaten. “The first time he ever really harmed me physically, I was pregnant with Kennedy and he grabbed me by the throat and held me up against a wall. Nothing had really happened to set him off, so I saw his ability to go from zero to 60 that quickly,” Taylor explained. “I had made pizza for his children before he got home from work, and he came into the master bedroom and grabbed me by the neck and shoved me against the wall and he said, `If you ever make my children a pizza without a vegetable again, I’ll kill you.’”

  • Taylor Armstrong sold photos of her with a black eye (from the physical abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of her late husband) to “Entertainment Tonight,” which aired three of the pics. The “Real Housewife” was reportedly beaten by her estranged hubby, Russell Armstrong, who committed suicide several weeks ago, and required plastic surgery to repair her injures. Morning Quickies: Russell Armstrong Beat His Wife, Sent Threatening Email To Camille Grammer

  • Russell Armstrong once beat his wife, Taylor Armstrong of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” so severely that she needed surgery to repair cracked bones in her cheeks, multiple sources tell TMZ. When Russell, who committed suicide earlier this week, found out she told her friends Camille Grammer and Kyle Richards about the beating, he allegedly sent a threatening email to Grammer that one source said was filled with “the rantings of a lunatic.” Her friends supposedly encouraged Taylor to tell Bravo about the abuse so she wouldn’t be fired for avoiding filming while she was hospitalized and her injuries healed. Shooting on “Real Housewives” was allegedly delayed several weeks so Taylor could recuperate. This story just keeps getting sadder and sadder. [TMZ]

Danielle Staub Says Reality TV Made Her Suicidal

Disclaimer: You may want to flog me for what I’m about to say, but I must say it. As a person who has suffered a serious bout of depression, I have the utmost empathy for anyone who is suicidal. But I just have to question Danielle Staub‘s motivation for doing an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” in which she says that she was suicidal after appearing on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” It seems a little like she is trying to capitalize on Russell Armstrong’s suicide because, in true form, she jumped at the opportunity to force herself into the spotlight. Now, if I’m wrong about Staub’s motivations, then I’m sorry. But why would she share her suicidal thoughts with her kids? And why would she tell us about it? Why, if she thinks the pressures of reality television contributed to her depression, would she continue to be part of that world? (She is currently a cast member on Vh1′s “Famous Food”). Something about her confession doesn’t sit right with me. This woman needs to sit down with a professional, not “ET.” [ONTD]

The second season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is set to premiere on September 5th. Bravo had already sent off screeners of the first episode to the press, which features Russell Armstrong‘s then-wife, Taylor Armstrong, buying lingerie in an attempt to spice things up and talking—and even bursting into tears—about how they were going to couple’s therapy. A week before Armstrong was found dead in an apparent suicide, he talked to People about his role on the show and said that he was feeling extreme emotional distress about it. “It got really overwhelming,” he said. “When you get a TV show involved and all the pressure, it just takes it to a whole new level. … We were pushed to extremes.” Keep reading »

Russell Armstrong, the estranged husband of Taylor Armstrong of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” was found dead Monday afternoon, the victim of an apparent suicide. Russell was found hanging in the bedroom of his Mulholland Drive home, but uncovered no suicide note. Wife Taylor was not in the home at the time.
