I’m pretty sure Rose Byrne could make clown makeup look ultra-glam, but that doesn’t mean that this simple contoured eye look is any less impressive. In a season filled with beauty influences on either side of the spectrum, from burgundy-lipped goth to luminous “is she even wearing makeup?” faces, this one lands safely in between. Last night in New York City, The Cinema Society and Giorgio Armani hosted a screening of “Albert Nobbs,” a new film about a woman passing as a man in 19th century Ireland. The titular character is played by Glenn Close, whose “Damages” co-star Rose Byrne came out to show her support. I’ve been a fan of Rose since her small role in “Troy,” and I even liked her passive-aggressive turn in “Bridesmaids,” but that may have just been because her hair looked so damn nice! Rose is certainly abnormally beautiful, but I still have to hand it to her for being consistently well-dressed. She never looks over-styled or uncomfortable in what she’s wearing. Most of the time, she makes her public appearances in clothes that look like they actually came from her own closet. I feel like this chic outfit in particular is just begging to be recreated. Who IS Rose Byrne, Anyway?

FX’s popular suspenseful drama “Damages” begins its second season tonight and we’ve heard tons of great things about the show. Unfortunately, the first season’s episodes are not available online, but you can read the recaps here if you want to get up to speed before trying the show out this evening. Glenn Close, who we adore in basically everything, is the star, but recognizable (and beautiful) face Rose Byrne plays Ellen Parsons, the naive goody-two shoes attorney working for a devious, slightly psychotic boss. From what we understand, this season Ellen sheds her good girl image and transforms into this manipulative back-stabbing vixen, giving her boss some competition. So how do you know Rose’s face?
