Find Out Which Rock Stars Suck In Bed And Which Ones Are Hung Like Horses (According To Some Anonymous Groupies On Reddit)

Fun Reddit threat alert! Redditor Bhighkin put a call out to the former groupies of Reddit to share their NSFW sexcapdes with rock stars. What ensued were a bunch of unreliable, friend-of-a-friend, hookup stories-turned total Reddit fuckery featuring Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish, Chad Kroeger, John Mayer, Eddie Vedder, Harry Styles, DMX’s mom (!) and some more famous pees who aren’t even rockstars. Find out who loves “rough anal“, who is way into buttholes, who is asexual, and who has a large dick, but is often too wasted to get up. I’ve included a few tidbits after the jump. Keep reading »

Advice Seeker: I’m dating a guy who refuses to give up on his dreams of rock stardom. While it’s admirable in a way, I need a little bit more stability if we’re going to make this work. How can I gently break this to him?

Andrew WK: Don’t you dare say anything to him about giving up his dream. You’re not the right person for him. Never ask someone to give up on their dream just so you can feel more stable. It’s his choice and his choice alone, no matter how ridiculous his dream may seem to you, or to society, or even to himself. Dreams make humans into self-realized individuals. Your only responsibility is to love everything about him, including his dreams. The idea of “making this work” sounds more like a way to make his life more boring and predictable. At worst, it’s a genuine sadistic desire to control someone else because your own life feels out of control — or a cruel need to dominate and break someone’s spirit for the sake of your own peace of mind. Look for stability and peace of mind inside yourself, and not in your relationships or the dreams of others.

Okay, so I totally hate Andrew WK’s music, but he might just be one of the best dudes on the planet. I interviewed him a few years ago on his tour bus, and he was hands down one of the nicest, sweetest, most inspiring people I’ve ever met. Plus, he offered me cookies. DREAMBOAT STATUS! [Reddit]

Rock On, Art!

Moxy Creative House has put together a badass series of art prints depicting the signature styles of 20 different rock icons. Ranging from Kurt Cobain to Run DMC, these limited edition posters are almost as cool as the rock gods that inspired them. One major complaint, though: no female musicians were included. Seriously? No Debbie Harry? No Billie Holiday? Shame! [$30 each, Moxy Creative House] Keep reading »

Face Off: Rock Star Vs. Actor

Looking like the ghost of Jerry Garcia, Joaquin Phoenix announced, via backwards knuckle scrawl, that he’ll be leaving acting to pursue a music career. Hopefully that idea will last as long as the ink on his hands, or he might wind up in MySpace band obscurity like Russell Crowe! Although, Joaquin certainly is talented, has a handsome voice, and we could watch him swagger all day. However, we’re worried the “Walk The Line” Oscar nom went to his head. It’s easy to feel like a successful musician when you’re pretending you’re Johnny Cash, but will the Phoenix be able to rise as a rock star? It remains to be seen. But is he really picking a better life for himself? Let’s help him see the light with a face off: rock star vs. actor!

Dealbreaker: Musicians/Rock Stars/Singer-Songwriters

Dudes in bands: They’re creative, laid back, they’re hot, they have great music collections, they’re sensitive, and very often, they’re funny without being as damaged as comedians. What’s not to like? Let’s discuss.

There was the Luke Skywalker look-alike who drummed for so many bands I couldn’t keep track of them all. (Although, as a drummer, does he really count as a musician? Wocka wocka!) Practices and shows took priority over time with me, so I was competing with an unknown amount of other rock dudes probably numbering somewhere in the dozens, and decidedly losing that competition. The drummer boy flaked out on me. He reappeared to apologize profusely for his disappearing act, we had a great discussion over dinner about us, and how we were going to start over and do it right this time because both of us really understood where the other one was at. Then he promptly flaked again. He’s now married to another musician who, it turns out, has also flaked on me.
