This week, Arizona’s Republican Governor Jan Brewer signed a law cracking down on so-called “revenge porn,” classifying it as a sex offense. “Revenge porn” consists of sexual photos or videos which are posted online without the person’s consent. Generally speaking, ex-boyfriends or jilted partners post intimate images or videos of ex-girlfriends, which go up along with the women’s full names, addresses and employers. The aim is to ridicule humiliate their victims.

AZ’s strict new law makes “revenge porn” a felony, establishing an initial 18 months in prison, or two-and-a-half years in prison if the person in the image can be easily identified. It will apply to any “photograph, videotape, film or digitial recording of a person” and makes it a crime to “disclose, display, distribute, publish, advertise or offer.” It doesn’t include an exception for photos deemed by the press to be in the public interest, such as celebs’ or politicians’ sexy photos. It does make an exception for “voluntary exposure in a public or commercial setting.”

True Story: I've Been Called The "Erin Brockovich" Of Revenge Porn

I felt like Will Smith in “Enemy of the State.”

I was being hunted, harassed and stalked by criminals with technological expertise. I had been thrust into an unexpected war. I felt exposed, vulnerable and alone on the front line. I had awoken a hideous network of villains and saboteurs, who were in pursuit of me, hoping to ruin my life. I had received creepy emails, backlash on Twitter and three death threats. My computer had been bombarded with viruses, and a technician had advised me to buy all new equipment because the malware was tough to remove. Keep reading »

League Of Legends Gamer Posts Revenge Porn Of Girlfriend Because She Played The Game As A Character He Didn’t Like

League Of Legends Gamer Posts Revenge Porn Of Girlfriend Because She Played The Game As A Character He Didn't Like
"The worst thing you could do is play Lee Sin."

Who knew a surefire way to incite rage in your  nerd boyfriend was to pick the “wrong” character when playing the video game League of Legends? According to The Daily Dot, when LoL gamer XJ9 — described as a “a very skilled League of Legends player who could be pro if not for his emotional problems” — found out his girlfriend Sarah was playing LoL as the character Lee Sin, he lost his shit. See, in XJ9′s view, playing the game as Lee Sin gives players an unfair advantage in combat, or some bullshit, so finding out his girlfriend was daring to play that way was clearly a dealbreaker. Instead of breaking up with her like a normal irrational, sad video game obsessed basement dweller, XJ9 posted nude photos of Sarah on his public Facebook page, where they stayed for three days before a fellow LoL player named Destiny threatened to post XJ9′s personal information unless he took them down. And Destiny got the whole confrontation on tape, as the two chatted on Skype while gaming. In the video above, around the 5:30 mark, you can hear XJ9 attempt to justify posting the “revenge porn,” explaining to Destiny why Sarah playing LoL as Lee Sin was a personal affront to him.

“We literally said to each other, ‘If I really hated you, the worst thing you could do is play Lee Sin.’ And that’s what she did!” he explains. Oh okay then. Keep reading »
